The legend himself, both on and off the field has confirmed his retirement from the sportscasting community

I dunno about you guys (who actually know what I'm talking about) but my earliest memory of John Madden is the football game on the original Nintendo where he does the commentary. Plus the funny stuff he's said during actual games, and he doesn't actually know how rediculous he sounds. It must be the old age, but in his prime he was great.
