Peace and Rainbows Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Hey guys just wondering if any of you are going to be doing the day of silence. It is april 17th. It's basically where you don't talk all day. I'm doing it to honor my gay friends, myself , david Bowie and Billie Joe ARmstrong(BI Power!).
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Never heard of it.But not speaking all day to honor something is a bit strange. And I won't be able to not talk anyway.
Dai. Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 What's the point? Are you saying if I don't talk for a whole day, gay people will have more rights?
Eirik Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Yeah, erm, noo. How does silence have anything to do with gays anyway?
Nele Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I'm downtown the 17th and I'm very sure I'll talk the whole day.And like Peter said I don't get the connection with gays and silent. To be honest I prefer Christopher Street Day anyway.
Agija Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I won't be able to not talk. I have to talk a lot at school, plus I'll have the debating competition then where all you have to do is talk, talk and talk.
Ally Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I can't stay quite that long, my mouth refuses to stay shit for longer than an hour
Becky. Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I'll do it.I don't care what it's for, I want a challenge. It'll be fun. An achievement. I need some of those.
iLozza! Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 If I didn't talk for more than 10 minutes, my parents would think I had problems.I'll give it a try, just for the hell of it.
mitzymoo Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 i think its great that your doing it just because it doesnt make sense to some people doesnt mean that it wont have an impact
Dai. Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 i think its great that your doing it just because it doesnt make sense to some people doesnt mean that it wont have an impactWhat impact will it have?
Katarina. Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Nope, never heard of it before, and won't do it.I don't see the point of doing a day of silence anyway. It's not like you're helping gay people or something.
pooldude256 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Lame. Stuff like this makes no difference at all. Put your time into something more productive kids.
Countrygirl Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I'll do it.I don't care what it's for, I want a challenge. It'll be fun. An achievement. I need some of those.I guess no GDC for you that day.Lame. Stuff like this makes no difference at all. Put your time into something more productive kids. and boooooooooo........noooooooooooooooooo
14razorbacks Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I'd do that. It's to show that you care enough about Gay Rights to commit yourself to a day of silence in honor of it. Not to physically help the cause, just to show you support it.
mitzymoo Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 What impact will it have?i dont knowim just saying that i think its a great idea that it may have some impact and if it does then it was worth it any cause is a good cause after all
Dai. Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 i dont knowim just saying that i think its a great idea that it may have some impact and if it does then it was worth it any cause is a good cause after allIt can't be a great idea if it doesn't serve a good purpose. If it doesn't change anything, how can it be worth it?I'm not disagreeing with the fact that gay people should have the same rights as everyone else, but how does not talking for 1 day help that? It doesn't make any sense, it doesn't change anything. You said it might have an impact. An impact on whom? What kind of impact?
