I think it already ended its Chicago run. I don't about its status after Chicago.

So, Declan Bennett released his newest album last month. Fun fact is that he thanks Billie in the liner notes for helping fund the album. Unfortunately, he spelled it "Billy." Oh, Declan... :whistle You can download the album on iTunes here: http://itunes.apple.com/ie/album/record-breakup/id429396697

Another fun story: I went to see Christina's newest show "Baby It's You" two weeks ago. She brought my friend & I backstage afterwards. After she introduced the stage door manager, she mentioned how the stage door manager at the St. James was so strict. Her mom would go back there to meet Christina and the guy would tell her to meet Christina outside by the bar because Billie was backstage. Christina's mom was like "So? I have him on speed-dial. I'm here for my daughter."

John was an awesome stage door manager (if he's the one she's talking about)! I bonded with him and Billie's NYC bodyguard (before Eddie got there) over sharing our hunting stories

Heh... no. Not John. I'm talking about the one who was actually at the stage door. John worked the Jujamcyn door.

oh Declan indeed

I briefly met Christina's mum and grandmother once after a show where she'd played Whatsername. Couldn't help but think that's gotta be somewhat awkward to do the sex scene in front of your grandmother...

they were lovely though, and so proud of her

So, I don't know if anyone cares or is interested in this, but John Gallagher Jr. just got casted in Aaron Sorkin's new pilot for HBO! http://www.tvline.com/2011/06/aaron-sorkin-hbo-pilot-john-gallagher-thomas-sadoski-josh-pence/. This is great news for him and could do (or most probably will do) wonders for his career  (I mean, it's Aaron Sorkin, the man is a genius and everything he writes is amazing).

I read an article the otherday on a newspaper about how u2's spiderman musical is flopping across the board, the show itself has been delayed several times and is €52million in debt. Actors have been injured, the script has had major changes and now the cast album has had very poor sales figures too. It's just more and more bad news and it's making the whole production seem very amateurish.

It also shows that making a broadway show is not easy and it really highlights to me that the American Idiot team really did a great job running the show so smoothly and professionally.

There is alot to be said for being fully prepared :)

When I talked to him last weekend, he said that he never really wanted to do TV but when he read the script, he really wanted to do it. He originally thought the pilot was being filming in New York, but it's actually in Los Angeles, so he'll be out of "Jerusalem" for a couple of weeks next month. And if the show does get picked up, he'll be in LA while filming but back in New York the rest of the time. He's not really fond of LA nor the idea of being bi-coastal but he'll deal.

Does anyone think that the American Idiot musical would have a 2nd run on Broadway in the future? Maybe an original Broadway cast reunion run? I wouldn't expect a 2nd Broadway run for several more years seeing as how there's a national tour of AI coming up and a film version is going into development. So what do you think? Are there any chances of American Idiot doing a 2nd Broadway run?

Thanks for the thoughts!

Hmm, I won't pretend I haven't thought about this, but it seems likely. To me, American Idiot was a good "springboard" for the actors in it; it helped them get discovered (most of them, at least)... They would want to recognize what got them in awesome roles. But I don't foresee anything in the near future, I mean the show ended about 2 months ago.... Maybe in a few years? Let's keep out hopes up!

... But I'm not that into Broadway so I wouldn't know how these things work.
