mplsloseroftheyear Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 could it be that the box set they are releasing this summer for green day that is supposed to contain stuff from FBHT and the network be the new material? how rad would that be!
Ila Reto Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 i dont think they would cram all that stuff into one box set. maybe release the normal box set, and then a side project set? but even that is a stretch. and they know that they cant trust green day fans with a lot of stuff all at once, it's an overload, their heads would explode, so im guessing the releases will be spread out.
Jynx it up Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Sadly, I agree with the others and highly doubt it as they are three totally seperate bands. And of course, Network is not Green Day, so why would they be released in the same set as Green Day stuff?
**nobodylikesyou** Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/go...amp;newsLang=enIn addition, Reprise will also release a boxed set of Green Day singles culled from the band's entire career, including those from their alter egos Foxboro Hot Tubs and The Network, as well as B-sides, international tracks, and live tracks, on July 21st.There will be Network songs, but I don't think the boxed set is the new network album.
Guest Shangri-La Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/go...amp;newsLang=enIn addition, Reprise will also release a boxed set of Green Day singles culled from the band's entire career, including those from their alter egos Foxboro Hot Tubs and The Network, as well as B-sides, international tracks, and live tracks, on July 21st.There will be Network songs, but I don't think the boxed set is the new network album.B-sides??!? As in stuff off Shenanigans or totally new and amazing stuff no one's heard before???
Ila Reto Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 b-sides from american idiot with maybe the unheard one on HLAHG uhm, What About Today and the other IC phone songs, and a couple other unheard ones i suppose.
farley drexel hatcher Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 When I heard boxset I assumed all the singles in a big box like what The Clash did (least i think it was them) but i'm assuming it's going to be a big complilation thing on a few discs? Because there aren't phyiscal CD singles of Network or FHT songs. I hope we get unheard songs too.I think i've explained that really badly. I also think that anything Network related will be older stuff, nothing new
Greenday_Aussie Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Wow, then the boxset sounds totally worth it. I was gonna buy the AI singles off the net to get real copies of Shoplifter ect...
The Disappearing Boy Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 lets hope they don't become the network for a looooooong time. at least til the tour is over.
Ila Reto Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 ^ bite your tounge they should be the network NOW so then they can go on tour with green day, humfh!!!
The Disappearing Boy Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 ^ bite your tounge they should be the network NOW so then they can go on tour with green day, humfh!!!nothing should stand in the way of the new green day album. if the network go on tour with them, that means the network will have to write and record new songs, which would delay the new album. if green day do that, im gonna go over to them and have a word, they'll wish they hadn't!
Ila Reto Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 ^ but the way i interpreted it, those songs by the network have already been written for the most part. when green day pushes out 21stCB in May, i wouldnt see why the network couldnt release it the month after. it would also enhance the so called tension between the bands (back in '04 they said that the network intentionally released an album right before/after GD did). idk im just making up stuff out of excitement hahah.
CarnageXB Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 lets hope they don't become the network for a looooooong time. at least til the tour is over. Why? I want The Network now.
mandypants19 Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 as long as it doesn't interfere or delay whatever it is green day has in store, i'd be happy to see the network release another cd.
The Disappearing Boy Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 i think green day have been recording pretty much since october. before that they were doing demos, and before that they were the fbht. i don't think they've had much time to write songs for the network.
Eirik Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 i think green day have been recording pretty much since october. before that they were doing demos, and before that they were the fbht. i don't think they've had much time to write songs for the network. They could've written them on the road.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 lets hope they don't become the network for a looooooong time. at least til the tour is over.I wouldnt worry about it.If the last Network album was written one day and recorded the next, I seriously doubt that this would interfere with Green Day being Green Day.. Besides maybe the Network will be special guests for Green Day on the tour.
Jack96 Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Sadly, I agree with the others and highly doubt it as they are three totally seperate bands. And of course, Network is not Green Day, so why would they be released in the same set as Green Day stuff?Thats what i was goin to say
Dylan. Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Maybe they will release Cigs and Valentines. OH wait. they already did.
Hermione Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 ^No they didn't.I wouldnt worry about it.If the last Network album was written one day and recorded the next, I seriously doubt that this would interfere with Green Day being Green Day.. Besides maybe the Network will be special guests for Green Day on the tour. That would be heavenly! And yeah, I think Money Money 2020 came as a by-product of American Idiot, it was part of the creative process of them trying out new sounds etc. It wasn't like a seperate project that took up extra time, if anything it probably helped towards AI being completed.Although I doubt we'll hear any new Network any time soon. But anytime they wanna bring on Fink and the boys is fine by me
Anja Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 b-sides from american idiot with maybe the unheard one on HLAHG uhm, What About Today and the other IC phone songs, and a couple other unheard ones i suppose. That would be fucking awesome. I might consider buying it but boxsets are usally not that cheap.
chickin'pickin' Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 ewww, I hope not. I wouldn't wipe my arse with that FHT CD.
