habeeb Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Hey everyone, I have a question!does anyone remember a Green Day mashup site from..hmm I don't even know how many years ago. I wanna say like 3 years ago. It was a long while back. Anyways, you could mix Holiday and Boulevard of broken dreams- it was for a contest or something. I've tried looking for it everywhere but I can't find it. Does anyone remember or know what I'm talking about?
Fuzz Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 I remember the site, don't remember the URL. I'll look through my email and see if i find anything.I might be wrong, but wasn't it on http://greendaymusic.com/? Might have taken it down after they put up the new stuff for 21CB
UNeedAShrink Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 It was called Dean Gray presents American Edit Here is the Wikipedia link that tells about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Gray
Greenday_Aussie Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Woah, I like American Idiots is funky, can you still find all the songs anywhere?
saurus Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Why did I never hear of that at the time? I'm sure it would have interested me somewhat back then.
Haydée Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Why did I never hear of that at the time? I'm sure it would have interested me somewhat back then.yeah.. same here.it's strange, I think I visited GDA 3 years ago
Greenday_Aussie Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 http://webfeedcentral.com/more/dean-gray/ You can download all songs or singles or listen to them!
Juan Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 You guys don't have Boulevard of Broken songs, that was a tight remix I used to have it and I think you can still get it from GDA in the media section
Greenday_Aussie Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 I got it off Limewire ages ago, its pretty good, the Dance Mix 05 one is a bit too crazy.Oh wait a minute, I have a different one!
Haydée Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 You guys don't have Boulevard of Broken songs, that was a tight remix I used to have it and I think you can still get it from GDA in the media sectionwhen I was getting into GD, that song was on the radio; and I thought that was the original song.
captain peroxide Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 I have the entire "American Edit" album, it's absolutely brilliant. I can put songs up for download if anyone wants them.
Hermione Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 You guys don't have Boulevard of Broken songs, that was a tight remix I used to have it and I think you can still get it from GDA in the media sectionI love it, best mash-up song I've ever heard. The whole thing is pretty good, I really like the Ashanti/Letterbomb one.
Katarina. Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Sounds fun, though I've never liked Boulevard Of Broken Songs..
captain peroxide Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 I really like the Ashanti/Letterbomb one.Haha, I remember not liking that one because it was about 80% ashanti and 20% green day. And Letterbomb was probably my favorite song off AI, so I was sad they didn't make a cooler mashup of it.

And I already liked the Ashanti song which probably helped.
captain peroxide Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 I liked the clash of styles, don't get me wrong. I just didn't think there was enough of the actual Letterbomb song left in the mix, that's all.
Kaddi. Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 I've never heard about this before... but it sounds really cool
drumstick Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 I only heard Boulevard Of Broken Songs before. The rest of songs sounds cool
Nele Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Never heard about it.Impossible Rebel sounds damn awesome.
warding_off_regrets Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 I think everyone is talking about two different things here...The original poster is talking about a contest that was held a few years ago during the AI tour. There was an official website where you could take the drum beats, backup vocals, main riffs, and other stripped down parts from either Boulevard of Broken Dreams or Holiday and make your own remix to name and submit. The contest part came in when Green Day themselves (or so we were told!) picked the best remix from a group of randomly selected finalists. The winner got to have their mix played to the entire arena at one of the concerts, and I think they also got to meet the band.American Edit, while completely awesome, is also something completely different
