Ally Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 new issue of rock sound has two mentions of green day, sorry i'll have to quote the article cos i can't scan it in. The first was just a brief sentence saying something along the lines of "we hope green day will be back next year" but the second was:"Are we the waiting?" Apparently so, since studio album number eight failed to get off the ground last year, despite Billy Joe Armstrong's boast of 45 new tracks-all apparently reflecting his "current state of mind" (which is allegedly middle-aged). At least the trio have hit the studio with Garbage man/Nirvana/Jimmy Eat World/Smashing Pumpkins producer Butch Vig, and if you've been keeping your eyes peeled on YouTube then you'll have seen two studio updates of the trio and Vig at work, complete with blink-and-you'll-miss-them new song segments.I have even wrote to them moaning that they can't spell Billies name right!I don't think its anything we don't know but though you might like to know about it
Hermione Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Cheers, I like to hear about every little thing Just a rehash of info but cool to see them mentioned. What dumbasses they are though - incorrect information, incorrect spelling, and saying the album "...failed to get off the ground last year...". What a load of crap.
Blu Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 It's fun to see them in the news, but that's a bunch of crap. Lies. Lies that have been confirmed lies. They really need to get their story straight. And their spelling can use a little help too.

Nobody_Likes_You Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 hasn't Billi Joe said, he didn't write 45 songs?
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 hasn't Billi Joe said, he didn't write 45 songs? He did...that whole article is one bunch of rubbish
Tiffx Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 They spelt Billie's name wrong so the article has lost all credibility.
Ally Posted December 3, 2008 Author Posted December 3, 2008 They spelt Billie's name wrong so the article has lost all credibility.ye i wrote and complained about it, told them that after nearly 20 years of being green day they should be able to spell his name right. And yes he did say he hasnt wrote 45 songs, and its already said that most if not all is lies.
The Disappearing Boy Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 i really don't like that article. 'Failed to get off the ground last year'. it was never really said to be out this year or last year (although billie did mention it in passing). 'Billy's boast of 45 songs etc...' i just hate the fact they use the word boast and then they said 'allegedly' middle aged. as though they didn't believe that he even said that but thanks for telling us oh and, wasn't it billie who said that he had 45 songs on piano about october last year? or was that interview fake?
Hermione Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 ^Yeah it was reported that Billie said the 45 songs thing last year, by an interviewer who spoke to him. But in the new AP article it says:"...reports of 45 songs written on piano (not true, Armstrong says)..."So looks like the whoever reported it last year got the wrong end of the stick. It wasn't fake, but maybe they just misunderstood what Billie meant and reported it wrong. But of course he never "boasted" about it, that's just made-up shit.
Ally Posted December 3, 2008 Author Posted December 3, 2008 i have a feeling the person who wrote it doesn't like green day much, he seems to have made billie out to be a boasting twat, when that is so not true.I guess when there reporting they don't really keep their opinions of the band out of it, so it comes out a bit obnoxious.
Moxy Crimefighter Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 this is why Rock Sound sucks noodles
Nova-Caine Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 It seems most magazines don't do their own work any more but just re-hash what they've read elsewhere.Full of lies and half truths, very disappointing.
Ally Posted December 4, 2008 Author Posted December 4, 2008 this is why Rock Sound sucks noodles lol, i only buy it to see what new albums are out, so i can download them, and it gives more i like than in any of the others mags!next Billie intw with AP today.? Errr what?
