924Nimrod Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Wyoming pop-punk sweethearts, Teenage Bottlerocket go Green Day on their latest release, "Having A Blast". The cover art done by Mitch Clem is a parody of the famous "Dookie" cover. And this also features a cover of the song "Having a Blast". Check it out at Teenage Bottlerocket's myspace
Guest LusciousZ Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Oh. holy shit. I met them not too long ago at a radio station my friend dj's for.
Hermione Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I didn't like their version much, but I think it's great that someone would still want to cover that song after all these years, especially as it's a less well known track. Shows the influence Green Day hold and what a brilliant album it is.Oh and on the album art I love how the monkey is thinking "cover?" instead of "throw?"
The Disappearing Boy Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 this is a really cool cover. only crazy people don't like it.
Hermione Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 this is a really cool cover. only crazy people don't like it. Ahem! What are you implying mister?!

Guest give me novacaine-jos Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 oh it's ok i don't really like it...
hardtoconcentrate Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I actually think they did a pretty good job. Obviously not as good as the original but I managed to listen to it the whole way through which must be a good thing! I usually switch off half way through if I'm not feeling a song.
Ally Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 kl,listening to it now!, its a good version of having a blast, but no one can do it like billie, i love it by green day too much
Laura33 Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Well I thought it was craptastic, I turned it off after 30 seconds.
British Idiot Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 But listen to their stuff that isn't the Green Day cover.....it's like Screeching Weasel, only they haven't broken up!!
FilmAdaptation Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 The guy's voice doesn't lend itself to this song very well at all.
Nele Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 It's ok, but I don't like the voice from that guy.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I also don't like his voice..it's like he tries to hard or something...
Nova-Caine Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 It's good, i can't play any instrument nor sing for toffee so its better than anything I could attempt.
MrGreenDayUK Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 That's awesome. Song and cover art are ace.
