I like it only the three of them, sometimes the presence of Jason White, saddens me, even thought he did a lot of the guitar on American Idiot, and I love the album. Also he helps Billie Joe with stuff on stage, he play, while Billie can talk to the crowd and stuff. I dunno.

When a new batch of pyramid posters come out Jason White better not be on them or else they wont be going on my wall.

The only other people doing anything on the album were Kathleen Hanna in Letterbomb, Jason Freese on sax, and Rob Cavallo on piano.Jason White didn't do any guitar on the AI album. It was all Billie Joe.
Jaymee!! Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Even if they added 10 new members, Green Day would forever be considered as just the original trio.If they added Whitey as an 'official' member, I would still think of him as just backup for concerts. Same with Freese & Ronny Blake ect.

But if they added a new member I think it would be Jason White he has already been the unofficial member a bit. I would like them to stay a trio but I would get over not liking it as much and go on with loving them again as much as I used to.

Ila Reto Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 if they were just adding Jason White, i wouldn't really mind. im not saying i would love the idea, but i wouldn't hold it against the band or anything like that. it'd be a bit weird seeing him in group shots and t-shirts, but hey, then it's like a new mark in green day history. i would always think of them primarily as a trio- at least, when listening to their older albums.if they were to add somebody completely different though, i may get a bit anxious (the bad type). because their music may change due to a new face.

We already relate some people to the band, just not as main people. Chances are that GD will not add another member. They've been doing stuff for around 20 years. Why change their overall image now?
