djrossstar Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 I wrote this as part of my article on the new Weezer video. Do you agree? This might sound crazy, but when Cuomo shouts "Brothers and sisters, put your hands in the air" at the end of the video, is that in reference to Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong who shouts that twice during the band's live performance of "Jesus of Suburbia?" (The band covered Green Day's "Worry Rock" on a Green Day tribute record a few years back.)DJ RossstarFull Story + Video
Kimpsu Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 err okay.... I don't really see it's a reference, but I can be wrong. Like I usually am.
chickin'pickin' Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 It's far too vague to be a reference.Try again.
Miqui_Dee Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 it is not a reference to green day, i am pretty sure he just wanted us all to put our hands in the air.
djrossstar Posted October 9, 2008 Author Posted October 9, 2008 in the Billie Joe stage voice? I doubt it!
BassChick_GD Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 there's too much Weezer popping up here lately!
Hermione Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 As he's clearly a Green Day fan, I suppose it could be a reference. Maybe he did it subconsciously after hearing Billie Joe say it during a performance that he was impressed by

I mean, its a known fact that the guys from Weezer (well, at least in its original incarnation) are big Green Day fans."I asked you to go to the Green Day concertyou said you never heard of them" Taken from El Scorcho off of Pinkerton.
BabsBurnoutGirl Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 We're really desperate for Green Day info... if we're reading into every little thing every little band does
SetOnOverdrive Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 I highly doubt there is any meant reference.
