Fuzz Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Very happy to let you guys know that we got setup a feature to solve the problem of Green Day topics getting buried, or people wanting to only see Green Day threads. We talked about the solution of tagging relevant threads so that we wouldn't have to split the forums up, but still have a way for those interested to view only those threads. There's now a link at the top of the forum (top left) that says "Green Day Topics". Clicking that link will take you to this pagehttp://www.greendaycommunity.org/Forum/ind...;CODE=getpickedMods will be able to go around and tag any threads in the General forum as Green Day topics to show up on that page, which will make it easier for people to find Green Day related topics. Only mods can tag threads, this will be to avoid people putting crap in there that doesn't belong. If you see a *new* Green Day thread in the General forum that isn't on that page, send an email to any moderator and they'll add it (mods will be on the look out for new threads to add anyways, but just in case). Please do not go back and search for threads over the last 3 years and email them to mods to add to the list. We're only gonna be adding threads that are relevant from this point on. We've already gone through the most recent pages in General and have added about 4 pages of Green Day topics. Please leave your feedback/questions/comments here.
Saint of Saints Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 ohhh....that's why!!! I was wondering why all of a sudden there were more buttons.Good add! thanks!
Ila Reto Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 nice alternative to the split forums andres A++ but when tagged for "green day topic", does the thread also stay in general chat? i know, bad question, but i dont really know how forums/threads work.
Fuzz Posted October 8, 2008 Author Posted October 8, 2008 Yup, the threads will remain where they're at.
jose armstrong Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 ah, now this is waaaaay better than splitting the forum, kudos for this one Andres
justcause Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I think that's a pretty creative solution - best of both worlds!!
Jaelle Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Wow, your brain comes up with awesome stuff, Andres.
FilmAdaptation Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 All threads in there are showing that I've read them, and I haven't. Is this a temporary thing after the move, or will it always just show that you're all caught up in all the threads?
captain peroxide Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 dude your innovativeness is freakin' me out right now, this is a great solution to the split the threads/don't split the threads debate.and just to clarify for you dudes, the button is like clicking general chat, but it filters out everything non-green day related.
Vanessa Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 It says "Green Day Topic" when there are multiple topics in there. It's bugging meeee.Sorry Great idea though. I like it a lot better than splitting the forum. Edit: I just notice the link right next to it says "Topics". Why are there two links right next to each other?
Fuzz Posted October 8, 2008 Author Posted October 8, 2008 All threads in there are showing that I've read them, and I haven't. Is this a temporary thing after the move, or will it always just show that you're all caught up in all the threads? It should show the same thing as if you did a search. Most of the recent ones for me show which ones are unread. It says "Green Day Topic" when there are multiple topics in there. It's bugging meeee.Sorry Great idea though.
