As mentioned on GDA, Green Day is on the cover of the newest Kerrang magazine with a more in depth article on Foxboro Hot Tubs. It was noted that Kerrang was at the FHT show in Los Angeles interviewing people in line.

Below are the scans of the article with thanks to shadowiegirl for them.

Hmmmmm....surely there goes any chance of FHT in the UK being a nice low-key affair like it was over in the U.S?

It wasn't that low-key. I mean, MTV and other major music networks had the info.

Just didn't seem to stick. Though it'd probably be harder after details like this in UK papers

I think that the approach taken to the FBHT tour is what keeps it low-key despite the publicity surrounding it i.e. small venues, no advance ticket sales, no real advertising etc. I really hope they do come to England cos i live in Ireland and i would love to see them.

im going to read it,wow...

I hope you guys are right...it would be a shame for it to get massively over hyped.

Bear in mind that the last time Green Day were on Kerrang's cover it was probably because of the massive Milton Keynes shows. Basically I just don't want Kerrang to screw my chances of seeing the FHT if they come over here :P

Thanks for posting! I'll have to head into town later to buy a copy. I imagine when/if the Hot Tubs come to England, there's gonna be a huge deal made about it. I can already see Radio One sending reporters to the gigs and announcing it everyday on air. That was the best thing about the Oakland gig, hardly anyone knew about it at that point!

Amen

Unfortunately there are too many people in this country who will try hard to see them even if they've never heard of Foxboro Hot Tubs or don't even particulaly like Green Day, just to be seen to be cool.

I don't know, I just get the impression there are more people like that here than in the States, especially in London. You only have to look at the amount of total posers that are now at most of the mainstream music festivals to see that, even Glastonbury! Rock music is currently seen as fashionable to trendy types in a way that is different from in the US. Here huge celebrities currently love to be seen at any kind of rock event, it's in vogue at the moment, but you don't see huge US celebrities doing that.

I really hope I'm wrong though :D

Thanks for posting sweetie. I'll go and buy it later and have a read. Wow FBHT is gonna be big.

I think partly it was the timing. All the major music news outlets had the info on the tour on their websites when it was announced (MTV, Spin, NME, Kerrang, Reuters, etc.) but didn't have enough lead time to put into their print editions.

But as far as people wanting to go just to be cool, it takes a bit of stubbornness to be willing to line up for 12 hours of more, so if that format continues (only selling tix at the door) I think people who are dedicated, and who are able to spare the time, will still be able to go.

(Also, page four is on there twice, and one of the scans -- the one that only has half of that page-- is huge (over 4000 pixels wide). I deleted that one from GDA, but just a warning to anyone with a slow ancient computer...)

I really hope it works out like that, I'll queue for as long as it takes! :D

I'm more just concerned personally and selfishly because I'd feel so bad for my sister if she can't go early enough (as she has a baby to look after). Obviously the dates haven't even been announced yet and I have no idea how early it would be necessary to go, but as it's such a huge expense to her family for her to travel it's gonna suck if she can't get in :( . That goes for all the many other people in a similar situation too.

Nothing I can do about it though, so I'll just have to hope there's a way :)

Ditto!! With your sister's situation, if I happened to get in line before you, I'd be very happy to save you's a place :D

Thanks, that's so nice of you . Ditto from me to anyone from here that goes.

I think it's brilliant that there will probably be people from GDC at each show. As well as getting to meet some of the cool people on here it would give us all a much better chance to get in. United we stand, divided we fall :D

Yeah so enough stress from me. The article is very good, it sounds like it really captures the essence of how great the shows are. Maybe I'll go and buy up as many copies as I can so no one else knows :ninja:

ima go buy it later, then.

Great :woot:

Well I think that really captured an essence of what the GDC people who went to the gigs gave with their recaps :) and yes, it really was a monumental thing to have done - to have been there would've been awesome - let's hope we can have some of that here in England....

A really nice review of the show and great pictures, but I too worry now that this has been kinda highlighted in mainstream-ish kinda media that if the Foxboro's DO tour over here, it'll be hard to get anywhere near the front if you DO get in... screw Kerrang magazine..

Haha, bless him :D

The news about our boys is spreading quicker than I imagined, If they come over here it's gonna be big guys and we might not find it that easy to get to see em.

I've already informed my staff that if the FBHT come over, I will be taking days off. I have already promoted someone so that she can cover for me when I am not there so that the authorities can't get in a rag about it. Lets hope They come and we all get to meet up, party and write recaps for everyone else and have the time of our lives.

Damm, I was hoping they wouldn't get front page coverage.....that sounds selfish of me, but meh! I really wasn't. lol!!

Ah well, definetly going to have to queue for hours and hours if they come over here. I'll buy the magazine later :)
