ametur_poet Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 My jazz band wants to play the Green Day song Longview, but we can't find any sheet music. If you could find some, that would be great. Here are the parts we need:Trumpet2nd and 3rd Trombone1st and 2nd trumpetbase guitardrumsalto saxbaritone saxclarinet [if possible]keyboardflute [if possible]Thank you.
FilmAdaptation Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 I think it'd be a bit hard to find sheet music for arts that aren't in the song. Besides maybe piano.
spark in the night Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 that would be hardbetter off just going by ear

Holes Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 I know you can get it for BOBD, so you can probably get it for Longview too. But when I heard BOBD, it sounded like crap done by a jazz band, sorry.
ametur_poet Posted April 12, 2007 Author Posted April 12, 2007 I've memorized the song completely to play. The problem is, the rest of my band doesn't know how to transpose songs. Thanks, anyway.
Joey Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Get the Dookie or International Superhits music books.
Totally obsessed Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 I've memorized the song completely to play. The problem is, the rest of my band doesn't know how to transpose songs. Thanks, anyway.transposing isn't that hard I don't know alot about the instruments you listed, but say for example their instrument is in the key of A, and you wanna play something in C you just move every note up 3 steps... or at least I think that's what you do, I haven't done theory in ages And to work out different parts you can just use harmonies and stuffThere are lots of sheet music sites on the internet, but you have to pay. Just google it and see what comes upThough like other people said, I'd just do it by ear
rootbeersoup Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Best thing you can do is buy the tab books... There aren't any parts for any instruments other than guitar, bass, and drums... You might be able to find piano. And I think Longview would suck if you're playing it on all those instruments.
Used Illusion2 Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 get guitar pro download the tabs onto it then print them off.. you can get guitar pro if you dont wanna pay for it off limewire or probably by torrent....
