woah i have to do like the same identical project for my language arts class, but just write about why we picked the person/thing to read about...

but maybe open with "A guy walks up to me and asks 'What's Punk?'. So I kick over a garbage can and say 'That's punk!'. So he kicks over the garbage can and says 'That's Punk?', and I say 'No that's trendy!'"

I don't know. I'm not a good writer. But I want to help you so, if you want, put this:

"It's something unpredictable, but in the end is write, I hope you had the time for Green Day"

Or, look at my signature. Or... look at the GD quotes in GDA

i like that one, it sums up the band in one and a half sentences.

A band that saved Rock, and showed lots of us what punk is...

"Do you have the time... to listen to me whine?"

is the perfect beginning. I've seen articles about GD with this opening sentence.

Or . . .

"I'm the son of rage and love, the Jesus of Suburbia . . ."

that would grab your teachers attention :)

"passion is our strength" i like that one:)

^^ thats the best one on the thread so far

NOT FAIR!!! I wish I had a Green Day project to do for school! not boring old CLOTHES!

Anyway, how about this:

"Dogs are gonna take over the world. It's a known fact for those who believe it, kinda like the Bible."

"It's fun until someone gets hurt... then it's hilarious."

(When asked in 1992 where they would be in 3 years) "I'm going to point a gun at Tre. Tre is going to point a gun at Mike. Mike is going to point a gun at me." (Mike: "We're going to count to 3 and pull the trigger.")

"Do you have the time to listen to me whine? Good. If you don't like Green Day, you're stupid." - Nick Rose, Pulse Weekly

Yeah it would be my dream to do a school project on Green Day. Hey wait, no, my dream is to go to a Green Day concert and get to the front of the moshpit - and this is wishful thinking, but I wish I could meet Green Day. But then again, so would lots of other people.

Make up stories about how greenday members are connected to drug dealing and arms trafficking!!! Would make the project more exciting! :D

Definetly use that one! :D

Ah I did an 80 page essay 2 years back on Green Day for English. I just used a random quote from GDA for each member, wrote about them, about the music, wrote a few Green Day poems, stuck in a million pictures, lyrical analisation, etc. And viola! Grade A work :D

"Do you have the time... to listen to me whine about Green Day"

it could be good, but i think that that quote is kinda over-used in situations like this. plus: your teatcher probably don't know the lyrics to basket case. but i like this one:

"History will tell if we were really a good band or just a one day fly."

'cause then you could start by telling why you think green day is such a great band and why you think there would be a movie made about them

In 1992 Green Day where asked where they would be in 3 years. Billie Joe replies, “ I’m going to point a gun at Tre`. Tre` is going to point a gun at Mike. Mike is going to point a gun at me…” “ We’re going to count to 3 and pull the trigger ”, Mike finishes. Now its 2006 and Green Day is still on top of the punk ladder. So your asking why should there be a something as big as a movie to document the story of Green Day. I’ll tell you why. It’s a good story full of crazy stories with tales of drunken late nights, the plot of “ how did they do it? ” and of coarse the music. Oh, what great music.

For starters, all the crazy antics. Dressing in drag and milking dogs are just some of the more memorable of the bunch. One of my favorites though was at Madison Square Garden in New York. With the z-100 Christmas show (aids benefit) beginning to drag after 7 hours, Green Day needed to be in top form to revive the tired audience. This was the final concert after a long year of supporting their hit album Dookie. At about 2am the band finished their set and headed backstage before their encore. Fans would be in for a surprise when Billie Joe returned to the stage wearing nothing but his trusty 56` Fender Blue for a performance of 'She'. That sure woke the crowd up! Theres many more stories like Green Day trashing Leno’s green room and several shows ending in riots. Not to mention that wasn’t the only time Billie’s striped down for the crowd.

So, how’d they do it? How does some random group of nobodies from California become so popular? “Satan. Satan, Satan” ,chants Tre` “That’s what’s different. We’re all firm believers in Satan now. We think Satan is cool.” Obviously something Tre` would say. But seriously now from 1990 to 94 Green Day were signed to Lookout records. A small record company in C.A. In 94` they signed to a major company, Reprise Records. Their major label debut, Dookie sold over 11million copies. All their major label albums sold very well. Millions of copies sold for each new album but none stood up to Dookie till American Idiot. American Idiot made Green Day even more popular in a younger crowd. The great sales and dynamic energy of the group live, not to mention the great music you know they’re going to be HUGE and everyone knows that the underdog coming out on top is a popular movie theme.

Finally, there’s the music. Fast and energetic, Green Day has reinvented punk. Billie Joe writes lyrics that come from the heart, as soft as that sounds its true. The music’s lyrics are all about the confusion of life often dealing with love, betrayal and drugs. Music truely from someone who has experienced it himself first hand. Their first two albums fast and cheap, wonderous 3 chord riffs and choppy bass line with a pounding drum. Later they experimented with different instruments bringing in such instruments like a harmonica, accordion, and saxophone. ‘Good Riddance (Time of your life)’ includes a string section and drag queen anthem ‘King for a Day’ includes a horn section. All making a great plots for a movie. If you wanted you could turn each one of Green Day’s songs into a movie they’re that good.

I’ll leave you with this, make a movie about Green Day like I’ve told you it’s a good story. With crazy tales hitting it big and the music. So do you have the time to listen to me whine. Apparently so because you just read this.

heres the finished product hope u like it
