Green Day Haters / people bashing you for being a Green Day fan?

Today I had an excursion to go on and we got to wear casual cloths and I thought I would wear my GD tee-shirt. I got onto the bus and I had people going GD’s gay! Why do you like them? Ohh your so emo! And one thing really got my attention was they thought I was a groupie and that I only liked GD for their looks and that I was like in love with Billie Joe!! That really pissed me off!

At school I have people call me emo and wright it all over the tables all because I like GD and one boy asked me when I went to a GD concert did it slit my wrists when I was there because that’s what all GD fans do!! All I won’t is to wear my GD top and like them with out people saying stuff.

Dose this happen to you?

I deal with this almost every day, haha.. The people from school don't really like GD, and some of them are like "You like that band? It's not real music, just pretenders" and I'm like "YOu don't know anything 'bout GD so shut up!", and everyone in here's right, many of GDs song is about being yourself, so why don't you just do that?

I sorta agree with you...but you can't just say that. I've listened to GD before AI came out but didn't really seem to care....but the fact is for me that older songs such as Brain Stew and Basketcase got me liking GD since novermber '05 and now all of my friends say im obsessed...I'm not though...I like them A LOT

I go to a catholic school (Although i am not catholic) The uniform is pretty strict (e.g no rings, braclets, necklaces etc, two earings, You know all that shit!!) Anyway i wear my Green Day pin on my collar (No one in my hole school does, Theire is like 600 of us) anyway, there is some boys in my year that will go out of there way just to make fun of me, One guy wrote 'I think Green Day suck' on a peice of paper and tried to stick it on my back, He knew he couldnt do it so he tried to put it on me, So he tried to put it on my pencil case but i saw him so he walked of, Then he dropped it on the floor and told other guys to do it, and yelled at me Green Day suck!! He went to all that trouble for nothing and made an idiot of himself, And another guy puts his MSN name as 'greenday sux' (Yer they cant spell) and has a pic of the american idiot album but replaced american idiot with 'Sux ass' so it looks like 'Green Day suxs ass' They are so pathetic, And then i say shut up swear etc.. And they are like sorry, I am so protective of Green Day if anyone bags them out i will stick up for them, But thats the end of my life story

I guess i'm kinda lucky cause no one's ever done that to me. Although I don't know any fellow punks pretty much everyone i know listens to green day from time to time, so they don't have a problem with me liking them at all. In fact most of them will probably come to the gigs with me next time round :D I wear Green Day t's virtually every day, so everyone at Uni is used to it!
