beth hardy Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 here's what i don't understand..everyone's saying that A.I is newer stuff..they've put out 9 albums...so where in the hell does their "old" stuff end?
saurus Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 i like old Green Day and new Green Day. but now i listen more old than new.same asGreen Day are Green Day they always have been and always will be....I like all their stuff, but just recently I've been listening to the older stuff more, dont know why, it's still just 3 guys shooting out awesome music that says the truth....
buhwandonsays Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 What has happened to Green Day?When did Green Day lose it's status of real Punk Rock and just become another band out to please the crowd? Take a look of some older pictures of Green Day and what do you see? You see 3 teenagers/young adults looking to do nothing but raise hell with their music. Now when I look at them I see the stage show, the flashing lights, the giant banners, the eyeliner and tight pants (which are so cliche in punk rock....when did putting on your sister's makeup make you a punk at heart?), and I see the terrible fall of everything that was real. Why has Green Day chosen to take the path of pleasing the crowd?
Milan. Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 they have matured and grown up.they made a awesome concept album which was a piece of art to them.there is no cliche in punk rock buhwandonsays.i ecpect the new album to be back to the roots like.
14razorbacks Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 just because they're not making kerplunk over and over again doesnt mean you cant listen to it.why dont you just shut the fuck up, unregistered bastard. ok? if the gal misses the old green day let her shout about it!yeah you make me wanna shout! throw my hands up and shout! throw my hands up and shout! wayayayay! wayayayay! wayay--sorry.

punksaves Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Green Day is Green Day, new or old. They are the same guys they have always been. They always do something a little new, but it is always them. I love 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and I love American Idiot, and I love that they still play their old songs at concerts. They are always going to be amazing, honest, and punk no matter what anyone says.
greenday-are-my-religion Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 well i loved the old green day but thats never going to happn again so i guess the new green days just as good
Miqui_Dee Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 i admit i miss like, 1039 smoothed out slappy hours green day because i like the way young billie joe's voice sounds, but he's too old to sound like that anymore. he's not 17 any more (yeah, i wish he was though...)
Ultimo3000 Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 For some reason I've always liked the nineties. They had some kind of happy vibe to them. Nowdays I have so many worries.
greencarrot Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 i don't like any of them.I'm sick of it, it gets me bored thinking about it.I'm sure they'll change...again when they start their new era.can't wait for that.
IAmARevenant Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Which sound of Green Day do you prefer? The sound of the first albums, where GD was punky, poppy, and fun; or the sound of Nimrod, Warning, and AI where GD had an altenative sound which was a bit more serious? I like the old school sound a bit more. The next albums are good too though.
novacaine_kid Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 This is a tough one really. I grew up with albums like Dookie, Insomniac and Nimrod and i love Their first 2 albums too so obviously the older stuff has a place in my heart. Saying that though, the newer stuff is pretty fucking amazing and American Idiot is a legendary album. Their live performances are still fantastic although i personally would prefer them to be more spontaneous like they used to be, anyone who heard their performance from the warfield last year will know what i mean.. that was what they should do more of.So all in all i have to say that the old green day wins really but take nothing away from their new stuff, its still amazing
Punk Butterfly Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 for me now are:the pre-dookie 'old' era: 1039SOSH, Kerplunkthe 'old' era: Dookie-Insomniacthe 'middle' era: Nimrod, Warningthe 'new' era: AI
