Does anyone remember Bullet in a Bible?

Hey all. I just recently watched Green Day's documentary-styled concert movie the other day. It was directed by the same person who has created several of Green Day's music videos. I personally love it. For many years, like most fans, I spend my free time listening to Green Day. When this came out in the mid-2000s, and also during the American Idiot era, I bought the album about a year later and also purchased Bullet in a Bible. Today, you can stream it online which is amazing. I am curious though, does any like any iconic parts from the movie or like I mentioned initially, have heard of it?

I love it but wish there were fewer special effects and black and white bits.  Nevertheless it’s a great video, great show.

It's technically the album/DVD that got me into Green Day when it came out, so I'll always love it  

We had gotten it for my brother for Christmas for some reason (no idea why) and I was obsessed, it effectively became mine, and now here we are 20 years later.

The BIAB version of Jesus of Suburbia is one of my top songs of all time.

Recently, a coworker was telling me the story about the bullet in the bible - the guy that was saved by the bible.  I had to bring up Green Day.

Me too! I asked my mum to buy me a Green Day CD and she took me to a record shop in town. The bloke working there started gushing about how they're better live so I should get the live album... and I apparently took that advice very seriously

Every time I watch the video I get goose bumps and an adrenaline rush. It takes be back to being there in Milton Keynes on June 18, 2005 the first of two nights. 65,000 fans.

Man it was hot, over  30° C I think. I was at the back of stadium, so band were so far away but could still make out Billie Joe running up and down the stage as always, but the two big screens helped. But didn't give a shit, just followed Billie Joe's instructions and went fuckin' crazy and jumping up and down with everyone else. At end of show I was soaking wet from the heat and fans, but I was gone, I'd died and gone to heaven. lol.

The movie brings the show close up which is cool. The only disappointment was it's been cut with 5 songs not broadcast and other things. 

Memories are a wonderful thing, to remember those good time. But to see it again is something else.

I was at a record store yesterday and they wanted $40 for the Blu-ray version of it, which surprised me! I have the DVD version (which I only paid $6 for 😄) and it made me realize that I need to do a rewatch.

Just reading your post has given me flashbacks, because I was at the first night too! Your experience was very similar to mine.🥰

You're right, it was a baking hot day and there was hardly any shade to sit. I'm kind of surprised that we didn't all pass out with the heat and excitement.😆

We didn't get into the front circle because we didn't get there early enough to get a wristband, but we had no clue about any of that because it was our first time seeing GD!lol! We ended up somewhere at the bottom of a slope towards the sides. I remember just standing on tiptoe when GD came on the stage and losing my shit with excitement, because I could see them in front of me, (admittedly at a bit of a distance and quite small) with my own eyes. It was the best feeling!😁 Just to make sure I captured some photographic evidence, I took a disposable camera with me.🫣😅 I still have the pictures somewhere, and I think I was very pleased because you can actually see tiny GD specks that weren't captured from the screens!lol! One other souvenir that I have is the tour programme that I purchased. I remember sitting reading it in the heat, waiting for GD to hit the stage 

I also vividly remember looking up at the sky and seeing a helicopter overhead, which might have been the one doing some of the aerial shots. I also remember that when we were wandering around during the afternoon, we walked past them interviewing/recording some of fans that they show in the dvd. Of course, we didn't have a clue what was going on.😆

When the show finished I was on such a high. On the way home, I was desperately trying to figure out a way that I could do the Sunday night. Obviously I couldn't, but that was the night I properly fell in love GD.😅

I feel soo incredibly lucky that BIAB was my first GD show. It was so special, and to have it captured on dvd is amazing. I haven't watched it in ages, but I really feel like a re-watch is in order now.😂  I have to admit, some of the fast cut aways are slightly jarring for me, but I still love it.

I haven't watched it in a while but man, what a time! I got the dvd/CD set for Xmas that year. After we opened gifts I rushed to my room to watch it. After that I would often pop in the DVD and just fast forward to my favorite parts (no man can eat 50 eggs, Billie sleeping, tre putting on eyeliner, vocal warm ups). BIAB is still one of my favorite live releases of all time. I'm a sucker for the documentary mashed with love footage take and this is what I want from live releases. It's kind of like Depeche Mode's 101 another fantastic live film.
