Why everyone expect something from them besides playing 20 yr old anti bush songs. 21st century breakdown is more relevant than American idiot. 5 1 Quote

They have been bussines owners since the late 90s. This has nothing to do with anything, and they’ve been criticizing Vance, Elon Musk, Rubio and the whole Trump clique non-stop this past year. Let’s not be overly dramatic. It’s okay to be disappointed, I am too, but we do not need to make stuff up. 5 Quote

Popular Post GuitarPunk94 Posted 6 hours ago Popular Post Posted 6 hours ago The message at the end again: "The only thing more powerful than hate is love" Absolutely not my type of music, i didnt understand a word in spanish, but he was asked to do a show that unites the people, and i think his halftime performance was really good 5 3 Quote
Popular Post The Grohl Posted 6 hours ago Popular Post Posted 6 hours ago Bad Bunny did a great job. It was a huge moment for Latino people and Puerto Rico! And I loved the bit at the end where he named different countries with a message of love. 6 3 Quote

Popular Post DookieLukie Posted 3 hours ago Popular Post Posted 3 hours ago I loved their performance. To me, songs like Holiday and American Idiot say enough in their lyrics. It must have meant a lot for them to play this kind of gig in the bay area. They killed it and looked to be having fun. If people listen to Holiday and American Idiot and can’t see any political commentary, that’s their issue. Bad Bunny also approached things in a mature way. Didn’t make a message of hate, but instead of unity. Even said “God Bless America” and had the US flag first in the parade, going against people’s perceptions of him as an America-hater. I felt like they both took the high road and I appreciate that kind of maturity in an era of digs and insults that go nowhere and get nothing done. 11 2 Quote

But why don’t they ever show my boy Jason when he’s ripping those solos and riffs!? 4 Quote

Bad Bunny was strictly prohibited from any political statements during his performance. I expect he and Green Day both had contracts with severe penalties/fines they had to sign in order to perform. Sadly. 4 hours ago, billy1986 said: So far bad bunny hasnt done anything risky He was prohibited from doing so. I expect Green Day was as well. 4 Quote

I was definitely expecting at least a throw-away anti Trump/MAGA line or something. I don't think any of us can imagine the contracts they had to sign to be able to perform today. We have no idea what sort of penalties or fines they would have been slapped with had they said anything. I've read Bad Bunny was strictly prohibited from anything political in the halftime show. Of course Green Day would have similar restrictions, and I'm also sure they wished they could say something. I think the NFL booking them was political without outright saying it, and Holiday and AI are both political protest songs, so... I think we got what we could have gotten. 3 Quote

Yeah, I think it's clear now that they wanted both of them because of the reaction their names get. 2 Quote
Mollyluna Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago I just got up (after five hours sleep 😭) and rewatched their performance. And aside from many people being disappointed, I think from a musical standpoint they were perfect. Great show!😍 1 Quote
