Spacecowboygemini Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Even though it was a Europe Exclusive Video, I noticed throughout the years the music video to Stuck With Me rarely saw airtime on all stations that aired Music Videos including MTV. Whenever marathons of Green Day Music Videos aired. It always was not included. Was the video banned kinda like how "Geek Stink Breath" was. Until International Supervideos came out it was rare. The Animated Collage Segments were fairly violent otherwise nothing I felt was banworthy Quote
Hermione Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Highly doubt it. It just wasn't a hit song/video 1 Quote

ThibautDookie Posted Tuesday at 02:21 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:21 PM The music videos from Insomniac were heavily censored (nearly all of them contain swear words). From what I've been told, the band were not going to make any music videos for Insomniac because they said that they didn't want to become sellouts (that's what Mark Kohr (the director of the Stuck With Me) music video told me. The music video was censored with the lyric "Find another pleasure fucker, drag them down to hell". With a virtual press blackout at its time of release and not one single that didn’t feature either the words ‘shit’ or ‘fuck’, https://www.kerrang.com/green-day-the-inside-story-of-insomniac Similar case, the music video for Geek Stink Breath got a MTV Premiere, a trigger warning was shown before the airing of it. It was shown for a couple of weeks (late at night on MTV) and then got removed. Would be interesting to know which music video from Insomniac got the most MTV airplay though. Anyone know or was a fan back in 95 and watched MTV ? Quote
billy1986 Posted yesterday at 01:14 AM Posted yesterday at 01:14 AM I want to know why there was a press blackout for insomniac it was great! J.A.R should have been on the album as it went #1 but a manager leaked it as a single without Green Day knowing so they fired him and didn’t include it on the album which hurt sales this has been in interviews. I think Brainstew/Jaded got a lot of play as it peaked at #3 on modern rock charts and walking contradiction was nominated for a Grammy for the music video and Roman Coppola directed it so that must have gotten heavy rotation especially if it got Grammy attention…imagine a music video for J.A.R what could have been and Westbound Sign then catchiest song on the album Quote
nopride84 Posted yesterday at 02:04 AM Posted yesterday at 02:04 AM There wasn't a press blackout there were articles in magazines and alot on the internet as it was gaining popularity. The tour was cut short and the band went away for a bit. There was a lot of TV interiews and performances. I men even mtv had two specials when geek stink breath came out and when the album came out. The played leno letterma and even the vmas and on fox. I remember in the vhs trading days I got a copy of stuck with me broadcast on mtv us from 1997 or 1998. It got over shadowed by bran stew because according to greenday.com 1996 news tidbit brain stew was in heavy rotation but stuck with me wasn't available in usa yet andby may or june they had the walking contradiction video so stuck with me was just ignored by mtv in the states 1 Quote
nowshesgone Posted yesterday at 03:08 AM Posted yesterday at 03:08 AM iirc Stuck With Me only got a Music Video/a single release in general to promote i believe the ill-fated EU tour of 96 and was also only released in Europe Quote
nopride84 Posted yesterday at 04:13 AM Posted yesterday at 04:13 AM Geek stink breath was released in sept 95 and stuck with mewas released in uk and Japan in Dec 95 and brain stew in April 96. They canceled the restof the tour in April 96 Quote
