DookieLukie Posted Friday at 04:39 PM Posted Friday at 04:39 PM I thought it wasn’t a #1 song? YouTube description says it is. What was the third #1 as well because didn’t Bobby Sox only hit #2? 1 Quote
ThranaM Posted Friday at 05:22 PM Posted Friday at 05:22 PM I like how they picked a version where he fucks up the lyrics, multiple times😂 1 Quote
nowshesgone Posted Friday at 06:12 PM Posted Friday at 06:12 PM Thank fucking God the autotune isn't there (or at least isn't as bad as that Bobby Sox live track) 1 Quote

That Dude Posted Friday at 10:55 PM Author Posted Friday at 10:55 PM If this is indeed for a new live album, I hope there is an unreleased track or something included. Something special. Oh and they've released yet another Edition Deluxe on Spotify, haha. Quote

If you compare with a audience recording from the same gig, it's clear that some parts were corrected in the second verse for instance. It's for this reason I don't see the point with live audio-only releases such as this, and why someone would be excited about a full album. It's not the real deal anyway. I also think's its especially dissapointing that a band such as Green Day agree to this, considering their roots and what come from, so to speak. Since the visual side of the experience is entirely (quite literally) out of the picture, obviously the listener pays even more attention to how the performance sounds. It's less forgiving with audio only, in that sense. So I think most people wouldn't notice smaller mistakes our single words slightly out of tune in the same way, with both audio and video. Sadly I think a potential "Live at Wembley" Blu-Ray would be just as post-processed though, sadly... It's just where we're at. Quote
Gwen Stacy Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I don’t think we’re getting any official live product that isn’t at least pitch corrected these days. It’s just considered professionally standard. I also agree that it isn’t necessary and I’d prefer to hear the vocals without any processing but good luck getting the suits at Warner to agree to put something out (ie spend money) they’d consider “unpolished”. I’d be curious to see what the last live cuts that we got without vocal tuning were. Bowling Parking? Tune In Tokyo? It doesn’t diminish my excitement. Having these is like a memento of the tour, a snapshot of a moment in time. A really amazing tour and era for the band deserves commemoration. Would I prefer to have my cake and eat it too? Of course. But I’d rather get live tracks with vocal tuning over them taking their ball and going home because they’re playing purists. They’ve always been willing to play ball to advance their careers betting that in the long term their music will stand the test of time. 3 Quote
