Luna Jinx Posted Thursday at 05:46 AM Posted Thursday at 05:46 AM Has Green Day been down low lately? Are they up to something? Hopefully they will do something soon. Anything. Have they been out? A party? A project? Anything? Are they boring now? Do they do anything fun? Fake moustaches or expensive grills do not count. 1 Quote
Popular Post solongfromthestars Posted Thursday at 08:58 AM Popular Post Posted Thursday at 08:58 AM They have a show in three days. They were touring and doing other stuff pretty much nonstop until the short break though. They deserved a rest 6 Quote

GDC last week was definitely boring, right @Mollyluna . Should be getting better since they have been nominated for the VMA's, Garbage Pail Kids cards came out, shows coming up, etc 1 1 Quote
nowshesgone Posted Thursday at 11:16 PM Posted Thursday at 11:16 PM in Three days Green Day is back. besides, now would be the perfect time to start announcing shit for the holiday season (New Years Rev soundtrack LP/CD, Boxset, Live Album, Coffee exclusive seven inches) 1 Quote

Well i still think it was fun, but no one was talking like last week, and I was like "what do I do with my life now," lol. I haven't been here long enough to know what it was like before 2022 1 hour ago, nowshesgone said: besides, now would be the perfect time to start announcing shit for the holiday season (New Years Rev soundtrack LP/CD, Boxset, Live Album, Coffee exclusive seven inches) thank you for reminding me there was new summerweenie punk bunny coffee merch out today lol. Popular Post Winter321 Posted Friday at 10:40 AM Popular Post Posted Friday at 10:40 AM Very random but I’m so glad to see this forum is still somehow active. I’m surprise forums on the internet still exist at all 😂 I remember being here when I was in highschool, in like, 2014? I think, and using so much google translate. I can’t for the life of me remember what username I had or what email address I used, but I distinctively remember the fangirl thread lol, I was surprised that was still active as well 😂 A lot of life has happened in 10 years, I finished highschool, a masters, had 3 jobs, changed countries, came back, left again, but this summer was very hard for me, with a lot of changes, and like any other time when life was hard, I turned to Green Day for comfort. Needless to say the old Green Day obsession came back and hit full force, more than usual, because I don’t think it ever left, it just got a little quieter 😂 And I said, why the hell not, let’s make an account here and interact with the fandom for a bit, until it quiets again. Glad to see so many people still around, some usernames I even recognize haha. 6 2 Quote

Popular Post jengd Posted Friday at 12:34 PM Popular Post Posted Friday at 12:34 PM It gets really quiet sometimes, of course it does, but it’s good to be able to see others are suffering through the drought too and we can commiserate with each other and if nothing else, go back to talking about Billie Joe’s hair 😂😂 4 1 Quote

Luna Jinx Posted yesterday at 05:30 PM Author Posted yesterday at 05:30 PM This place used to be so active and full of news. I am so glad it still exists. God bless the GDC. If Green Day is being less active creatively lately hopefully it is just to rest and get ready for something interesting. Have they been changing up the setlists at all or is it still the hits, the predicable “deep cuts” minus anything from the Trilogy. Sounds like their management has been busy saying yes to Garbage Pail kids and alerting people to awards nominations. That not an evolution of Green Day’s work. That’s just new merchandise and at least an award acknowledgment but Green Day didn’t invent anything new there. I miss No Fun Mondays and the side projects. I miss rumors and secret shows. I hope something exciting happens and the GDC threads pick up again. Quote

Tomorrow they start the South American leg of their world tour. So the (long?) time of rest and creativity will come afterwards. And their setlists in Europe this summer were the hits, unpredictable deep cuts 😂 minus anything from the trilogy. I liked it very much but would gladly have taken some trilogy songs too! 2 Quote
Popular Post jengd Posted yesterday at 05:55 PM Popular Post Posted yesterday at 05:55 PM I think we have to be ready for a prolonged quiet period. They have been touring for 18 months after all the work around releasing Saviors, they deserve time off. 5 1 Quote

Rumpelstiltskin2000 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Ever since becoming a GD fan first thing I used to do in the morning was check GDC/GDA (and again multiple times a day). For years I tried to help keep the site going updating the picture threads but right now I'm taking a complete break (more or less) from the internet plus it's been so quiet on here for a few years now. Some days I don't even check in at all anymore or on Instagram or my Tumblr 2 Quote

Hey, this is what I‘m doing. Even if it’s quiet. Maybe this is a „new fan phenomenon“…😂 Quote
Cris. Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I think it's more the general state of the internet though... most people who were really active in the golden years of the forums are now parents with young kids, and/or busy work schedules, so they cannot spend as much time and energy on the forums, or on the band in general. And newer generations are more into social media (TikTok Instagram, etc.), which was not as huge a phenomena back then, so they are not coming to the forums (and that makes me a bit sad because Green Day forums where such a nice place for me when I was a teen, so I feel they're missing out on something). But like I wonder if Taylor Swift forums (to name a really huge artist in terms of number of fans/listeners) today have as much traffic as the GDC or Idiot Club used to have in their golden years? Funny, some days ago I asked my Swiftie daughter about forums. And the answer was, forums aren’t a thing at all. Everything important happens on TikTok and Instagram. Times change, obviously… Quote
Beathe. Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago With other bands I follow it's mostly X, Instagram and Tiktok. Personally I can't be bothered with Tiktok or X. Parts of one fanbase I'm in, is active on Tumblr which I think is a little funny since so many of them are teens/in their early 20s. I used Tumblr as much as MySpace when I was a teen. 😅 Quote
jengd Posted 33 minutes ago Posted 33 minutes ago I just think chatting on the forum feels more natural, but I’m not of the TikTok generation. Quote
