GDFan2019 Posted August 19 Posted August 19 October will also mark 2 years since the release of The American Dream is Killing Me!!!! Granted, I could see the album coming out in 2028 but hear me out. FOAM came out in February 2020, then of course the pandemic happened. Skip ahead to December 2021, we started getting the 1972 teasers, which were scattered throughout 2022 as well. We also got the extra Saviors tracks this year, which follows a similar path to the one off singles we got in 2021, Pollyanna, Here Comes the Shock, and Holy Toledo! So what do you guys think? When will we start hearing something? Like an interview where Billie says, "Oh yeah I got like 30 new songs now." Quote
greendepent Posted August 19 Posted August 19 They already said they will take a break after the tour ends. I expect that BJ makes another Longshot record anyway. 3 Quote
Insomniac1984 Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Well, I think Billie is going to do a new side project or do something with an older one. (The Longshot, something kinda No fun mondays/Foreverly, etc). 1 Quote

nowshesgone Posted August 19 Posted August 19 my thoughts rest of this year: the final leg of the tour (South America Leg), Riot Fest, New Years Rev premiere, Boxset (Warning?) or live album announcement next year: live album, maybe some more archival releases, and more coffee related shenanigans year after that: side projects, the lead single for A15, more coffee (yet again) 2028: next album and obviously next touring bracket 2 1 Quote

What I’m saying is, when could we get the first hint that an album is in the works? Quote

I'm sure there was a not a lot else to do for them to do (particularly Billie whose kids were already grown relative to Mike's and Tre's), other than write songs. So I wouldn't expect to hear anything about the new album next year. Some side project stuff maybe. Perhaps a couple of shows with PHGP in the east and west coast? their album came out during the Saviors tour, so they haven't got to play any of it live. 1 Quote
Popular Post GreenDayJunkie86 Posted Tuesday at 11:18 PM Popular Post Posted Tuesday at 11:18 PM When I saw this thread last night, I was like "they're already speculating album 15?!" 21 hours ago, GDFan2019 said: October will also mark 2 years since the release of The American Dream is Killing Me!!!! omg really? Good times, that was when we were all kind of detectives and piecing together Saviors and 1972 lol. Fun fact, tho my profile says I joined in January 2024, I actually was on here way before then as a guest, just too shy and scared to comment lol. Now look at me, I can't shut my mouth lol. all jokes aside, it is still kinda too early to discuss album 15 for me. The boys have said we won't hear new things for a hot minute, and I am still celebrating the release of Saviors 3 2 Quote
jengd Posted Wednesday at 05:56 AM Posted Wednesday at 05:56 AM I agree with @GreenDayJunkie86, I think it’ll be a while but I would love to know if Billie is writing like crazy with all that’s happening right now or if he’s blocking it out. He seems to be enjoying the break right now and am sure will want loads of family time for them all once this last leg is over. 3 Quote

billy1986 Posted Wednesday at 08:16 AM Posted Wednesday at 08:16 AM I think they surprise us and have an album out in late 2026 early 2027 at the latest. Billie is always writing. With the success of Saviors and its tour I think we get an album in a similar time frame from Insomniac to Nimrod. In between a Warning 25th anniversary and a Saviors live album in full…Insomniac 30th I pray they do something but that’s also my favorite of theirs with their movie coming out it can tie in to Promotion of warning 25th and a live Saviors album. 1 Quote
alecandstuff Posted Wednesday at 12:46 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:46 PM Given that the deluxe just dropped earlier this year and the fact that they’ve mostly wrapped up touring my guess is 2027? I don’t think we’ll hear back until GD and their team are ready for another full album rollout. Thinking of festival runs, a headline tour, single promo and music video production, mostly in part to whoever they hired for this last rollout because they were WAY busier than any recent release as far as “rollout” goes. With that in mind, my guess will be 2027, once they’ve got all their ducks in a row for GD 15 3 Quote
Flashback Posted Friday at 01:14 PM Posted Friday at 01:14 PM I think they kinda like the 3-5 year album cycles. And to be honest, I definitely prefer a well crafted album (produced by Rob and mixed by CLA) with 13-15 songs than a rushed album with 10 songs. 3 Quote
That Dude Posted Saturday at 11:22 PM Posted Saturday at 11:22 PM MUHUHUHAHAHAHA. It begins....well, the speculation about the speculation begins. Copilot first suggested that Green Day could put something out in the Winter of 2026, but I noticed that a short wait time like that includes the short gaps between Uno, Dos and Tre. Get rid of that and we're looking at 2027, sometime between April and June. But since the guys are getting older and they've said that they could use a little downtime after the Saviors stuff, I'm thinking late 2027 or early 2028. 2026 or 2027 could a good time for a side project or Mike Dirnt's Country Rap album or something. What will late 20s Green Day sound like? The end of a decade. We're headed into the 30s. WILD! Here's a throwback I just found from the Songs For Aholes Era: (fake tracklist, not mine) not my hero citizen reject solid state age of america chemical imbalance Faster Harder* The Queen Is Dead Waving the Red Flag 2 Quote

billy1986 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I’d love it if he would be a bit more open and extend the olive branch. I love GD and have my whole life seen em live 5 times. Amazing but sometimes he can be a bit harsh if others don’t agree with everything he does politically. We all get his opinions and I respect them but there are fans who might have some opposite views then he does and I think that’s ok. Peace of identity politics Quote
Clockwise Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Personally, I don't think we should be extending olive branches to Nazis but that's just me! 3 Quote
