Popular Post pacejunkie punk Posted Thursday at 10:56 PM Popular Post Posted Thursday at 10:56 PM Anybody on Friday’s time zone see a new Fidlar collab for Fuck Off on Saviors Deluxe? https://www.reddit.com/r/greenday/s/D4dPB8m2i1 5 Quote
RongoIK Posted Thursday at 11:38 PM Posted Thursday at 11:38 PM Not sure how to feel about this mix honestly. The dryer vocals are nice, but they have some mid-high frequency boost that is personally irritating to my ears. It's kind of similar to the vocal mastering done on the C&V songs, but way too intense in my opinion. The guitar "solo" is interesting, but I can see why it was cut... as it doesn't sound satisfying or needed. The different amp feedback is better and the drop of the instruments at the end of the first verse is cool, but those are pretty much the only things that I prefer over the normal mix, but the normal mix isn't anything special. I'm more annoyed that this was put onto the deluxe album and not a single release. Edit: Sounds much better with headphones 1 Quote

And i thought it was just my earphones. Like this is worst than smashing pumpkins zeitgeist. Yeah as a person who got high hearing sensitivity , this is worst. If those saviors five new songs are a standalone EP , i'll be the one to say "Cool songs but poor sounds". Quote
pacejunkie punk Posted Friday at 11:40 AM Author Posted Friday at 11:40 AM I like the Fidlar mix of FO better, it’s got that harder edgier sound I thought the original lacked. Good video too 4 Quote

Good video too That's very interesting. When Bobby Sox was released, someone brought up that it sounds very similar to the song "centipede" by FIDLAR, which must have been recorded at a similar time. And now this same band remixes a Green Day song 😅 Quote

Fuzz Posted Friday at 12:27 PM Posted Friday at 12:27 PM Not the cross-over I expected, but very happy it happened. It's so good. 1 Quote
devilskind92 Posted Friday at 12:50 PM Posted Friday at 12:50 PM I'm pleasantly surprised. "Fuck Off" had been one of the weaker tracks from the Deluxe Edition for me, it felt too restrained for the message it was trying to convey. But this version is definitely an improvement, as it makes it fittingly more aggressive. I really dig it! 2 Quote
Montclare Posted Friday at 02:10 PM Posted Friday at 02:10 PM I like this one better too. The original sounded thin, this fills the sound in better. 1 Quote
Hermione Posted Friday at 04:37 PM Posted Friday at 04:37 PM I love this! FIDLAR style works perfectly for it 1 Quote

That Dude Posted yesterday at 01:50 AM Posted yesterday at 01:50 AM What if they just keep adding to Saviors for a ridiculous amount of time? Lol. Super Duper Edition De Luxe! How many versions can we get? 3 Quote

That Dude Posted yesterday at 03:36 AM Posted yesterday at 03:36 AM What is the difference between the two versions? I hear none. Quote
Clockwise Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago This is the superior version imo. I'd love Zac to work his magic on a new Green Day EP or the next album, that could be really cool. 4 Quote

GreenDayJunkie86 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I actually like this better than the original . The effects are cool, they do make me dizzy tho haha. If you stare at those hands long enough it just looks like there is something stuck between the fingers lmao 2 Quote
FromTheHollowLies Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I like the feedback and the rawness, less polished in a good way. Need to listen not just out of my phone though and come back. I wonder what there connection to FIDLAR is? I suspect a photographer/videographer, I thought I saw something on insta like that. 1 Quote

Alice Baxley’s brother is a band member. I think he’s the one that did the mix. IIRC, I think FIDLAR were also connected to SWMRS and the Armstrongs through the insular California punk community. They may have collaborated at one time or shared a producer but certainly were friends too until the whole Lydia thing when I think they had a falling out (This was after SWMRS were found to be pointing the finger at other bands acting all pure and noble just before they were accused themselves). Anyway, I also want to say there was another personal connection in the band between a member of FIDLAR overcoming addiction and Billie Joe being a great source of help and support. 3 Quote
Popular Post Montclare Posted 12 hours ago Popular Post Posted 12 hours ago Yeah, Zac Carper is Alice Baxley's brother that Billie helped. "The last time Carper left rehab, he was determined to use again. He was depressed, and all of his close friends but Schwartzel had abandoned him. The only others who hung around were still using themselves. Fortunately, he got a call from Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, who had gone through addiction problems of his own. He talked to him for an hour on the phone, advising Carper that it was worth it to try to stay clean. “I probably wouldn’t be sober today if Billie Joe didn’t call,” he says. “He really helped me when no one else was there.” " 2 6 Quote
