Fuzz Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I'm going to write up a article on GDA looking back at the stuff the band did/released during lockdown. What were some of your favorite things? My two were definitely covers of I Think We're Alone now and That Thing you Do Quote
Popular Post Montclare Posted 11 hours ago Popular Post Posted 11 hours ago Both The Network and No Fun Mondays were great surprises. Favorites off of the first- Fentanyl, Ivanka, and Degenerate. Favorite NFM- You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory and Amico. It was also great just to see Billie getting more attention by himself by the general public. Pollyanna was very much needed for me at that time. My mental health was at a low, and the message of things may not be great now but just hold on and everything will be okay was something I needed to hear then. 5 Quote

Definitely part of my answer as well. I also really liked That’s Rock n Roll a bunch cause of how catchy it was and I Think We’re Alone Now of course. The late night performance Billie did with his sons was great too! Also, Jerry Falwell’s Pool Party is awesome, especially since I will defend Kill The DJ to the death. 2 Quote
Nezirath270 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago The underappreciated money money 2020 pt 2 by the network. Here comes the shock ,pollyana, insomniac 25th (including the live videos), bbc sessions, nimrod demos. Does dookie anniversary still counts? 2 Quote
jengd Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Loved both The Network and NFM. It was great to have something to look forward to each Monday. Hats off to BJ for that. 1 Quote
Dingle Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Covid. What a distressing and scary time for everyone. I lost a few friends and neighbors to the virus. Due to some personal medical conditions, I was in extended lockdown for 3 years. Green Day and particularly Billie Joe helped me survive. With the world (and subsequently Green Day’s touring plans) on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Billie Joe began releasing homemade cover songs on the Internet each week. He vowed to release a cover every Monday “until we’re let back out into the world” and dubbed the project “No Fun Mondays”. While Billie didn’t stick to releasing on Mondays, or even every week, he did in the end release 14 covers online which were eventually compiled into the album No Fun Mondays. Thanks Billie Joe, that was a really caring and special project. ❤️ 3 Quote
Hermione Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The Network without a doubt! Coming back with perfect timing in 2020, the amazing angle that they predicted everything that was going on with the previous album, successfully capturing the Network vibe again after 17 years, great mix of songs from each of the guys (Mike's bringing the classic Network sound, Tre's hilarious, Billie's as good as any GD song), savage political commentary, and totally spoiling us with a double album and multiple music videos. Perfection and hands down the best thing to come out of the year 2020 No Fun Mondays was cool too, I still listen to Manic Monday and Kids in America all the time 7 hours ago, Robbie1039 said: Also, Jerry Falwell’s Pool Party is awesome, especially since I will defend Kill The DJ to the death. The Network stealing Green Day's lyrics (and making them dirtier) is an amazing concept. Also the beat totally sounds like an early 90s p-funk Bay Area type rap beat and I love that. Quote
