Ballyhoo is a banger! Would have loved it on the album. Or another album like this! I’m just here for the trilogy vibes haha

I do like Ballyhoo a lot better than Smash It Like Belushi (though I like Smash It Like Belushi too), but I am not quite sure it is on the same level as the rest of Saviors. Saviors is just so amazing that I can see why these songs didn't make the final cut.

I think this song could be a good fit in FOAM, cuz I feel this is a song about dealing with fame and being a public figure. Is a good and catchy song, hope they can play it

I dunno, for me, I liked Smash Like Belushi a lil’ more than Ballyhoo. I would trade Susie Chapstick for Smash It Like Belushi (controversial opinion time folks)

I hear a lot of Plimsouls influence on Ballyhoo. I like it.

My thoughts on Ballyhoo:

First listen: Meh, don’t know…

Second listen: Hm, wait, maybe…

Third listen: YES! Love it!!!

And even if it was recorded about six months ago, I think it was written at the same time as the Saviors songs, covering similar topics as Dilemma and Goodnight Adeline.

I have to give it a second and third listen then

I need to hear it a few more times but Ballyhoo is just fine for me. I like it better than Smash It Like Belushi but I can't really recall the song itself. I don't think it's anything amazing. It's just fine. I'm really getting post-FOAM vibes from these songs in terms of it's a bunch of songs that are fine.

I like how "Fantano likes a Green Day song" just means "Fantano not putting Green Day in worst tracks of the week"

Why are we so obsessed with what Fantano thinks? Is he influential in a way that I’ve just completely missed?

I just expect him to dismiss all new Green Day as complete crap, that's all.

I'd never heard of him before I joined this site. Users on here seem to have a fascination with whether or not the band get his approval.

When it comes to music which is almost entirely subjective medium, it's a bit weird to put so much credence in what some YouTuber thinks.

Traditionally, music criticism can offer objective insights by examining musical elements like structure, technical execution, and historical context. As far as I can tell, this guy's content just boils down to whether he likes something or not.

I might be getting a bit long in the tooth, but who cares?

Absolutely. That's a music critic job, clinical analysis of a song, which they may like or not, possibly without any emotional attachment?

It was the critics that predicted GD's terminal decline after Warning. And look how wrong they where.

A critic's entitled to their opinion of course. But have they got what I have, GD is in my body, soul and spirit. My heart belongs to them coz they make me happy. And SILB & Ballyhoo are awesome, thanks GD. ❤️

I've always had respect and admiration for anyone who can play a musical instrument, No matter what kind of instrument or musical genre. Even if you're just entertaining yourself at home like me following along to a song, the feeling is amazing. In my own humble way, I really enjoy following along to GD songs on guitar. Ballyhoo is no different. And it appears to be very popular as there are a number of covers on YouTube. I particularly like this one:-
