Gonzalo17 Posted yesterday at 02:34 PM Posted yesterday at 02:34 PM Where you can hear the songs? Quote
Nezirath270 Posted yesterday at 02:37 PM Posted yesterday at 02:37 PM Listening to those saviors de luxe tracks (Minus suzie chapstick and father to a son acoustic version), it's like i'm back somewhere inbetween 2010-2014. If they didn't do a trilogy but did whatever those 5 songs from saviors de luxe. Stay young sounds like green day early 2000 after warning and before american idiot. Quote

I've VPN'd into Sydney Australia and pulled them up on YouTube on Green Day's playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_ldR3s6QS3hNbou2MAvfIIVXV_trJxuIFg&si=OLIQjkwsfnbz8WAp I really like "Stay Young" 😍 It's such a different vibe and tone for Green Day over the last ~20 years. Super refreshing and a nice change of pace. I would love if they made more songs like this. 1 Quote
Nezirath270 Posted yesterday at 02:50 PM Posted yesterday at 02:50 PM They should have just released this as an e.p. since the runtime of the deluxe edition tracks are only 20 minutes overall. All 5 tracks were just good and simple not fancy sauce or father to a son level of impact. Badabing badaboom dubidubidapdap Quote

I also think yeah it’s nice to see a different vibe and direction of sound. The other tracks are meh, wasn’t that impressed to be completely honest on first listen but I don’t take anything away that Saviors is a great album and we’re lucky to even get some extra tracks from the record. 2 Quote

ekim Posted yesterday at 05:54 PM Posted yesterday at 05:54 PM People saying stay young sounds like something after warning and right before American idiot perhaps it's a rework of too young from cigarettes and valentines? 1 Quote
ekim Posted yesterday at 07:02 PM Posted yesterday at 07:02 PM Has anyone heard from the dude? strange he's not on here talking about his favorite band hope all is well Quote
stefand11 Posted yesterday at 07:24 PM Posted yesterday at 07:24 PM Overall im a bit disappointed- Stay young is alright but the other tracks we hadnt heard arent super inspiring and are quite repetitive and would have no place on any actual album Honestly wouldve preferred demo versions of existing tracks, damn juvenile delinquents or that damn clip from tiktok that was never released 1 Quote
RongoIK Posted yesterday at 07:40 PM Posted yesterday at 07:40 PM The acoustic versions are SO much better than I was expecting. The single tracked vocals are so amazing to hear and I wasn't expecting it I'm not a fan of the mixing on Underdog though. Drums are too quiet and need a higher high end... I think it ruins the song more than just the song being kinda bland itself. I dig it still though... it reminds me of The Longshot a lot 1 Quote

Hubert Posted yesterday at 09:22 PM Posted yesterday at 09:22 PM (edited) Fuck Off is def my fav diughluxe bonus track Underdog mix sounds off tho. Specifically the drums are way too goddamn quiet Edited yesterday at 09:24 PM by Hubert 1 Quote
Frostmoar Posted yesterday at 09:42 PM Posted yesterday at 09:42 PM (edited) Lyrically speaking, Stay Young almost strikes me as pseudo-sequel/spiritual successor of sorts to X-Kid, and looking at it through that lens got me a tiny bit emotional. The lyrics don't necessarily line up 1:1, but that was first thing I thought of when listening to it. Definitely loving the vibes of the track, even if the chorus is a pretty repetitive. Fuck Off is cathartic. The trilogy/Longshot vibes of Underdog is contagious. Billie could make a dime-a-dozen tracks in that style and I would shamelessly eat it right up. Ballyhoo is still my favorite (with Fuck Off in contention), and Belushi is a catchy enough romp that is fun to play. Edited 22 hours ago by Frostmoar Typo 3 Quote
StillBreathing Posted yesterday at 10:03 PM Posted yesterday at 10:03 PM Stay Young Stay Young Stay Young 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 It reminds me of something of MCRs Danger Days 🙌 also the acoustic tracks are amazing - especially father to a son 1 Quote

nowshesgone Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago apparently Father To A Son Acoustic is basically the same minus the vocals ...which leads me to ask: WHY DIDNT FANCY SAUCE GET AN ACOUSTIC VERSION INSTEAD? Quote
DookieLukie Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Fuck Off has the guitar riff from C.U.N.T. 1 Quote
Q-Man Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I found Smash It Like Belushi and Ballyhoo to be the highlights from the deluxe for me, and even they aren't top tier songs by any means. Stay Young - 7/10 - Lyrically the best of the bunch and the melody is pretty catchy. Musicality of Whatsername with the lyrical themes of X-Kid. The song definitely drags and unfortunately feels the length of its run-time. The chorus could really be something great if it didn't just repeat "Stay young, stay young" over and over. Fuck Off - 6/10 - guitar riff is the same as C.U.N.T. from The Network. It's a self aware ridiculous song that strives to do what Platypus, FOD, and Take Back did but not nearly as successful at attaining it. Incredibly repetitve. Pretty standard by the books track, nothing special but also not bad. Underdog - 6/10 - weird choice to have an entirely different production feel for this track. Not a fan of the production and mixing on this one. Almost feels like a demo mix compared to the rest of the tracks and doesn't feel like it fits the Saviors era (although most of the bonus tracks feel that way to an extent). Again very repetitive. Production and repetitive nature really detract from what could have been a better song. Feels almost unfinished. Having this end with the album on repeat does lead nicely into The American Dream Is Killing Me oddly enough. The acoustic tracks didn't do much for me at all. They're just not as exciting minimalistic alternative takes of the originals. Was hoping for more changes and substantial vocal differences which they didn't deliver. Overall, I see why these are bonus tracks. They aren't bad and aren't great, but if this was released as a standalone EP or as proper album tracks on a next album following Saviors I would be highly disappointed. Glad Saviors era got to be extended through this and I truly hope the songs grow on me more. As it sits now, I likely won't revisit these too often once the novelty of new songs wears off. 1 Quote
Nezirath270 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I did a playlist or an alternate fan made green day album ( or a saviors/1972 double album) since those 5 new songs didn't fit on saviors 15 track album (I love all songs from saviors no skips) Here's the tracks (Oh man i really wish they should have release those 7 bonus tracks as a standalone EP) 1. Here comes the shock 2. Ballyhoo 3. Fuck Off 4. Holy Toledo 5. Underdog 6. Smash It Like Belushi 7. Stay Young 8. Polyanna 9. Father To A Son (Acoustic) 10. Suzie Chapstick (Acoustic) Quote
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I really wish they would have actually written a chorus for Stay Young. I like what it has going on but it definitely feels incomplete. Nothing really stands out for me besides Belushi. I still enjoy that a lot, but unfortunately it gave me high hopes for the rest. 2 1 Quote
