Popular Post Gwen Stacy Posted April 9 Popular Post Posted April 9 I like it, it’s fun! Very much B-side material but I love B-sides so that’s alright by me. Glad they decided to treat us. 5 2 Quote
PhuzzyPhriend Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Not nearly as good as the rest of Saviors, but still very cool. Just what I needed while I sit here trying to plow through my dissertation proposal while blowing mucus out my nose. 3 1 Quote
Little Boy Named Booze Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I just bought the Deluxe edition. Of course. 4 Quote

He was part of the first SNL cast and famously starred opposite Dan Ackroyd in The Blues Brothers, which I cannot recommend highly enough. He sadly passed away due to a drug overdose. 6 Quote
That Dude Posted April 9 Author Posted April 9 Know Your Enemy put through a Longshot filter. Also, some new vocabulary. Watusi, Vallejo. 3 Quote
Little Boy Named Booze Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I thought it was about Buschemi. Completely different person 1 1 Quote
Flynn Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Wish I could reasonably pre order this right now, but I'm happy with the fact I got the signed CD anyway. Pleasant surprise and this is giving me the Saviors hype feelings from late 2023 early 2024 again haha. Of course this is not a CRAZY song but new Green Day always consumes me I can't lie 3 Quote
PhuzzyPhriend Posted April 9 Posted April 9 My favorite movie is the Blues Brothers, so this makes me ridiculously happy. 3 1 Quote
Reverend Strychnine Twitch Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Better than 4-5 songs on Saviors. Upbeat and fun! 1 Quote

Popular Post DookieLukie Posted April 9 Popular Post Posted April 9 Just a fun little song. Green Day has earned so much good will from me with Saviors that I’m just grateful and not going to expect something amazing from this. 7 Quote
Popular Post pacejunkie punk Posted April 9 Popular Post Posted April 9 This is so catchy and fun I love it 🥰 I’m sitting here spiraling over the news and Green Day comes to save me like they do. I really needed this. I love my band. Listening on repeat ❤️ FYI, Vallejo is an East Bay suburb. It’s where Rod’s Hickory Pit used to be where Billie’s mom worked as a waitress and Sweet Children’s first performance was 8 4 Quote
Maddie86 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I'm so glad they're putting out a deluxe version of Saviors, I accidentally scratched my original copy so there's skips on American Dream and Look Ma, I needed a new copy 2 Quote
Insomniac186 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 What a pleasant surprise and I'm happy about the short wait for the release. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the unreleased material. Still no Damn Juvenile Delinquents though, I was kind of surprised it wasn't one of the bonus tracks. 3 Quote

Had to endure the trip home before I could read everything properly and hear the song. Not complaining though, sure lifted my spirits! 2 1 Quote
Popular Post Christian's Inferno! Posted April 9 Popular Post Posted April 9 I was afraid a lot of people were going to criticise the song super harshly even though it's an extra deluxe track that's probably not indicative of their future releases. People act like tracks like Here Comes The Shock are the worst things to happen to humanity when they're just simple one off tracks to satisfy some fans between releases. And I see these type of tracks as the same thing. But people act like it's some indication of what their next album will sound like. People would even use Xmas Time of the Year to suggest that RevRad was gonna be the same as the trilogy or something. I have seen people say this sounds like FOAM just cus it has a little bit of hand claps. I feel like everyone forgot why FOAM was bad. This track is better than basically everything on that album and Fever sounds much more like FOAM and isn't even on this Deluxe album. Regardless, I like the song. Obviously not gonna make my favourite songs list but it's a nice, fun track. Guitar solo is nice. 5 Quote
Montclare Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Guessing the title is in reference to Animal House. Also, The Blues Brothers is my all time favorite comedy, so this makes me doubly happy. 1 Quote

And I see these type of tracks as the same thing. I can only speak for myself but my issue with Here Comes The Shock was that it doesn’t pass the “does this song have discernible subject matter” test, which frankly I don’t think is that high of a bar. Coming after Father of All, it came off as lazy and low effort. I get they were in their “off the cuff” mode of operating but I want them to give a little bit of a fuck, y’know? Not every song has to be Jesus of Suburbia but I don’t think it’s too much to ask to be able to tell what the idea being conveyed in the song actually is. Pollyanna and Holy Toledo were much better in that regard so I didn’t get fussed about them. I thought Smash It Like Belushi sounded vaguely familiar and I just placed it: Clampdown by The Clash. I love how they wear their influences on their sleeves. 4 1 Quote
