Drink Coffee And Destroy Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I’m glad to finally present my Green Day replica guitar. The guitar I decided to make is the Fender-built Blue from the 1997-98 nimrod tour (replicated as seen during Edgefest 1998, though not nearly as thrashed). This is the same guitar that now lives in the Punk Rock Museum. In my years of being a fan/gearhead, I’ve never seen anyone try to replicate this axe or any of the spare guitars from the nimrod tour. This is also my personal favorite Blue. Here are some photos. Enjoy! Before the stickers went down Final results! Special thanks to our band liaison @foxborohottub for sharing this photo of the original guitar in its retired state back in March 2020. Thank you Bill! 3 1 Quote
SebFord0515 Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Hey there! Remember you from IG way back! Also I see Hammie above - made a bunch of replicas way back with him too! Hey man! I’m jumping back deep into “Blue Land” and making this replica as well - not sure if I’m planning on doing the stickers, but everything else exact for sure! About to order all of the parts necessary, including a stock strat. Would love to pick your brain sometime if you’re interested/available. Awesome replica, and best wishes!! -Sebastian Ford Quote

So great to hear from you! My apologies for the delay in response, I saw your comment on the 182News video then jumped on here. Hope all is well in your world! Thanks for the kind words, this was a lot of fun to put together and is my favorite "Blue". The neck and body are from Warmoth. I custom requested the left handed tremolo rout to match the original. It's not a visible option on their site (if you'd like, DM me and I can show you how to do it). The neck is 100% birdseye maple, to match the original Fender Custom Shop neck that was on the guitar until August 1998. The pickups are a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge, plus Fender Fat 50’s neck and middle single coils. The pickguard was custom made by a luthier friend of mine to match the original 9-hole; it's an 11 hole pickguard minus holes 2 and 8 (if you count them counterclockwise). The saddles are GraphTech and the tuners are satin chrome Sperzels. I also had an extra hole drilled on the back of the headstock to present the illusion of vintage-style tuners being installed previously. Other small details include black tremolo springs, 90's Fender-stamped neckplate, black selector switch, and two volume knobs with the third uncapped pot. The red strap is a Fort Bryan with a shoelace tied to the bottom end for the extra length. If you have any other questions, fire away! Again, great to hear from you after so long. Quote
