kerplunkie road Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 Dookie is probably like, one of Green Day's best albums so what's your favorite out of the "underrated" or at least not as mainstream song? (Such as Burnout, FOD, In The End, etc) Personally mine are either Chump, FOD, in the end or Emenius Sleepus Quote
Popular Post The Grohl Posted November 7, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 7, 2024 Sassafras Roots. It's probably my favorite song on the record, yet it's not mentioned a lot whenever there's Dookie conversation. Maybe I'm just a sucker for those pop melodies, but I love that song. 7 1 Quote
Cris. Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 The beginning and the end, the alpha and omega, Burnout and F.O.D. 2 Quote
Popular Post Montclare Posted November 7, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 7, 2024 Coming Clean or Having a Blast. "Do you ever build up all the small things in your head to make one problem that adds up to nothing" is the most relatable line. 5 Quote
Gonzalo17 Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Having a blast and pulling reeth are bangers. Eminus sleepus, sassafras roots and in the end are great punk rock songs. FOD is not underrated, they play It live a lot 2 Quote
jengd Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Can any track off Dookie be called underrated? I really love FOD though. 2 1 1 Quote
Psycho Britney Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 I think for me Burnout or Coming Clean. These are just great to singalong to and bop!😁 1 Quote
Göta Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Having a blast. One of their best songs overall I think. 2 1 Quote

Yep, Sassafras Roots for me too. I have not yet heard it live yet, but I will get to finally hear it in March in Melbourne next year. And "Basket Case, She, Sassafras Roots, When I Come Around" is my favourite block of 4 songs in a row on any of the albums. I am already expecting to get pretty emotional when those 4 are played in a row next year. 2 Quote
Dingle Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Thought I'd be clever and played the whole album through, any excuse. That didn't work coz love every song. Certainly not an underrated track but fav is Welcome to Paradise, coz I heard it first on Kerplunk, back in '91. Love the video. Sorry, hope you don't mind, I know I'm not really keeping to the question, but I wondered what tract has been played least on tour over the years. And from the list below from that amazing site Setlist.fm, from record available, Emenius Sleepus is bottom played only 46 times. Amazingly, May 27, 2013 was first live performance. Does that make it underrated? However, most recent live performance was on September 28, 2024 during current Saviors tour. Here's link. https://www.setlist.fm/stats/albums/green-day-13d68939.html Dookie Longview (1068) Basket Case (1028) She (887) When I Come Around (801) Burnout (316) Chump (246) F.O.D. (242) All by Myself (167) Coming Clean (104) In the End (54) Having a Blast (52) Pulling Teeth (50) Sassafras Roots (48) Emenius Sleepus (46) * Welcome to Paradise performances listed under Kerplunk album 1 1 Quote
Jesus-of-nowhere Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Probobly one of the simpiler tracks like having a blast, or pulling teeth but the little songs make the album so good. I love the 409 in your coffee maker outtake version to but that's from the box set so it probably doesn't count 1 Quote
GreenDayJunkie86 Posted February 15 Posted February 15 I think Coming Clean is one of my favorites and very underrated. 1 Quote
mikedirntseviltwin Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Coming Clean is absolutely sick and needs to be talked about more Same with F.O.D and Chump Gotta love Chump Quote
greenalert997x Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I don't think there is a single song on Dookie which we can call underrated. Dookie as a whole is highly appreciated, it's milestone. Obviousy only singles get radio attention and the rest not, so it's understood that some of Dookie songs are less popular. 2 Quote
