Popular Post Karl Karlson Posted October 8, 2024 Popular Post Posted October 8, 2024 Hey party people (at least I hope that's what those young folks today say), So I've been a fan for a while and have been collecting some stuff over the years and besides doing scans of artwork I also like to scan magazines and books. Especially this year I focused on a lot of Japanese mags I wanted to share since not too many people outside of Japan have seen these or people from outside of Germany have seen the German mags I also have. Since I always wanted to have the American Idiot tour book they did (actually "just" tour rehearsal photos and dates) and since it's AI's anniversary, I wanted to share HQ scans of those as well. Since I'm a perfectionist I edited the pictures to be as close as possible to the original mag or how it "should" look digitized, these took a lot of time and I wanted to share as much as possible at once with you. There's still stuff to scan and/or edit. Here's a short list of what's coming next: Warning Tour Book, Crossbeat 2001/12, Guitar Breakers 2004/10, Crossbeat 1995/11, Crossbeat 2000/08, Visions 2009/05, (maybe) Billboard 2009/05, etc. Well, here's the link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Hk68uJ_YwpQBby3nlLWhRAWU6_8vdAkE?usp=sharing Enjoy! 9 6 8 Quote

Mollyluna Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 When I have the time, I will see through all these articles. Let's see what I can find. A lot of them are from BRAVO, this was a youth magazine of... let's say not very high journalistic quality... But maybe there are hidden gems!? 1 1 2 Quote
Popular Post Mollyluna Posted October 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted October 10, 2024 Okay, just for fun I had a look at the first listed article. It‘s from BRAVO, the quality as expected. The author describes Billie‘s clown outfit and clown behavior in detail. You get the same information just by looking at the photo next to the text. Next there‘s a description of the band‘s behavior on stage which at the time obviously consisted of „spitting like llamas“ with the crowd spitting back. Again a lot of detail here you don’t really want to know… 🤢 Finally some false background information: the guys were all expelled from their highschool in Berkeley in 1987, and Tre is two years older than Billie and Mike. Might be better if I only write here when I find a real hidden gem… 😅 5 Quote

Karl Karlson Posted October 11, 2024 Author Posted October 11, 2024 Little update: I just noticed that I forgot to upload the first 3 images (incl. the cover) of "Rockin' On" from 2005/05. Now added: "Crossbeat Special Edition" from 2010 Just to be clear, some things are incomplete like some of the Crossbeat Special Edition, which are pretty thick books in comparison and I didn't scan straight interview pages of those books and of some Japanese mags I scanned those pages as well, since they are fewer. 3 Quote

Karl Karlson Posted November 10, 2024 Author Posted November 10, 2024 Today I got some things I found in my GD picture archive I scanned years ago and just put it away for myself: Some Japanese promo stickers, some album promo stickers, postcards and a few patches I rarely see on ebay. There are some scans of album ads and some pages of songbooks! I also added some scans of vinyl bootlegs. Karl Karlson Posted November 14, 2024 Author Posted November 14, 2024 Update: The files with the name "1995 - New Age Punks" were now identified as being part of the story "Punk" and "New Age Punks" in the Magazine Music Life from May 1995, so the file names were changed accordingly. Today I received the parcel from Japan I mentioned earlier containing 11 magazines, 10 of those featured Green Day (partially on the cover) and I just scanned them all. So if you're interested in cool photos and interesting ads, stay tuned. There will be updates in the next weeks. I try to only update when I have uploaded a bulk of images. Just added: WARNING Tour Booklet (this is quite large and a little tricky to scan and edit, took me quite some time, but I uploaded it all for you ) -> "Green Day Warning Tour Booklet" in the folder 2000-2008 3 1 Quote

Popular Post Drink Coffee And Destroy Posted June 22 Popular Post Posted June 22 (edited) I shared this in another thread, but back in March I acquired this Japanese guitar magazine that features Billie's gear and an interview from the nimrod tour. The publication is called Cool Guitar - Modern Rock, issue is November 1998. I scanned the pages and translated the article to the best of my ability. Enjoy!
