It’s like a strange mashup of When I Come Around and 21 Guns and I’m into it. The chorus has been stuck in my head all night.

I’ve said it before but the key change 🥰 this was a highlight at the listening party for sure. And “I’m gonna drink my wine and let it go” is now my life motto.

Took a little bit of time to grow on me, but now that is has I think its spot mid-album is honestly perfect.

A little whiff of Brit pop maybe but I feel the groove in this one.  Quite a banger for a mid-tempo number, Tre again making his presence felt, and Mike particularly noticeable early on I thought.  Billie sounding sweet and then ramping it up for the chorus.  Great song, well placed before Coma City and Corvette Summer hit. Love the guitars, the key change and long drawn out last note.

The riff really gives me 21 Guns feels. I like that it picks up during the hook for a crunchy, heavier sound.

Just listening to the full album. Had to listen to this song twice, once wasn't enough. Definitely (Maybe) get the britpop/Noel Gallagher vibes.

This song is starting to finally sound great in my ears. I knew from the very first listen that this one is gonna need a lot of re-listens, but it's definitely not a bad song. Verses are the the best parts, but that guitar solo absolutely slaps and is rivaling Billie's best guitar solo work from Dos!

This one is currently near the top of my favorites list. Super catchy and I love the key change. Plus, it’s super fun to play on guitar.

This one is really growing on me. I liked it when I heard it for the first time but I didn’t think it would become one of my favorites. But the more I listen to it, the more I start to appreciate it. I can’t get the chorus out of my head. It might actually be in my personal top 5 by now.

Every time the chorus comes in I belt it out loud. I had an impulse to do that the very first time I heard it, before I even knew it to sing it. That’s a big chorus

I like this song. Not one of my favorites - it didn't instantly grab me - but I enjoy it. While I have my favorites and I think some songs are better than others, I don't think there's a single song on the album that I flat out don't like.

The "sooner or later whatever, whenever" part is so powerful, wow. So many emotions in his voice. It's giving me serious Whatsername-flashbacks ("Remember whatever it seems like forever ago").

It sounds to me like someone who isn’t able to fight for a relationship because they’re dealing with depression and/or addiction, but they’re trying to climb out of it.

The song's lyrics reminded me of something he said in the post rehab Rolling Stone interview in 2013. He talked about how he was afraid that Adrienne was going to leave him over what had happened (and implying that it still could happen if he drinks again). So it stands to reason if that was his fear that when he resumed drinking and was depressed over it that he just resigned himself to it and said "fuck it, she's gonna leave me sooner or later, might as well drink", in a kind of throw your hands up and surrender kind of way when you can't control your addiction. I think "Adeline" is a stand in name for "Adrienne"

“I was sober for several years, and then I had a bit of fear of missing out, so I started drinking again. And I wrote a little of that song dealing with that hangover, and the struggle of once I start, I can’t stop.

“I saw my doctor and saw bloodwork come back that said, ‘You’re not as healthy as you should be. Your liver is not being good to you’. “I was like, ‘All right, that’s enough for me’, So I didn’t do any kind of programme, I just stopped.

 

I'm sorry he got to that point but if that was the wake up call he needed I hope it's the one that works for good. That's scary.
