It's so silent on here. Guys, it's Dookie. And AI. At the same time. In one show. Fuck. 🤠 It's because they already announced they're doing this at every show on the entire upcoming tour, the excitement for it happened when we found that out.
The 99th revolution
Did they announce playing both albums in full at Echoplex? Idk.
greendepent
I recently received my copy of Saviors on vynil and something called my attention: Butch Walker appears in "Goodbye Adeline". Can we assume that song is a FOAM leftover?

Can we assume that song is a FOAM leftover? No. Wikipedia lists him simply playing acoustic guitar instead of producing. Fever is definitely FOAM leftover, production makes it clear. Why did Butch play acoustic on Goodnight Adeline, only god knows. Maybe Making of Goodnight Adeline will showcase that?

Can we assume that song is a FOAM leftover? I think it's not a FOAM left over, but I think they started recording demos for Saviors in late 2020 with Butch Walker and later decided to record the album with Rob Cavallo. Maybe also for legal reasons they listed Butch Walker on every track for additional engineering.

PluckyJokerhead
Been a while since release and I found myself looking back at this video I did looking at all the TikTok teasers -- is it just me, or is this little snippet (timestamped in the link, 0:28) not present on the album anywhere? Wondering if it's possibly a song that got cut and if so whether there are any other B sides that we might end up hearing at some point. Unless I'm just being stupid (very possible) and it's definitely on the album somewhere? I know it's only two chords, but being accompanied by drums makes you think that's got to be something 🤔

That Dude
Album sales equal to 220,000 according to a Facebook post. So.......Green Day or at least Jillie Bow is always writing. There's got to be at least a batch of new songs written, even if they will eventually be scrapped or transformed or combined with other ideas. Not enough for a thread right now, but Album 15 is coming. Probably won't hear anything in 2025. In 2026, they will likely be silent. Silent but working. 2027 we'll probably get the initial rumblings. Rumored to be in the studio and all that drama. Maybe some leaks. Toward the end of 27 we'll get a better idea of what's happening. Either an album pops out before 2028 or in 2028.

I feel like the years between now and 2028 they will keep us calm by releasing more anniversaries with more demos/unheard tracks. Do you think they will release any singles in between now and 2028?

They haven't even started the goddamn Saviors Tour and people are already guessing when's the next album coming out. It gives me the feeling that people never truly enjoy the albums they put out and get bored ridiculously easy. I for example have no desire for new Green Day songs right now, because the ones that they put out will easily carry over Saviors Tour and I can't get bored of most of the songs Saviors has. There can always be delays with albums that people don't consider. For example, I think it's time for The Coverups to release a cover album. Drain You definitely deserves a studio version and they could throw one-two Coverups exclusive songs there aswell. Then there is Foxboro that hasn't done anything since 2008 (assuming you don't count Dos! as second Foxboro album, 'cause I don't) and Longshot has been on pause for several years aswell. Green Day could also finally produce stripped down acoustic album, which Billie proved with his ''Welcome to my panic'' podcast episode that it could really work. They could also release B-side album again, with hopefully State of Shock getting better version and speaking of Trilogy, they wanted to put out some ''best of trilogy'' album. All in all, I hate new album speculations. This is not directed to one single person, just general statement. 7

Popular Post DookieLukie
I was in a rush for new music after the last few records, but right now I’m not even thinking about it. I think I was in a rush before because the music wasn’t as satisfactory. Saviors is so good that it’s quenching my thirst and I’m enjoying it still months later. It’s honestly a great record. I’ll always be excited for new Green Day, but this is a quality product that will keep me happy and satisfied for quite some time, I think.

And all those teasers implied that release was imminent. I wonder if the plan was always going to be January 2024
Popular Post grene cniht
Still can't believe how good this album is. Latest song I'm obsessed with is Coma City. Besides adoring the tune from a musical point of view, I just love how it describes today's reality where everything seems to be going down the drain and no one gives a fuck or does anything to prevent it. We're all just boarding up our windows and drinking our lemonades, while we live in a collective coma waiting for the inexorable to happen. Love the instrumental outro. Feels like the apocalypse, everything is going to shit around us - shootings, war, chaos (Tré especially does a hell of a job conveying all that) - but no one does or says anything anymore; even the narrator has fallen into the coma and is left without words. Not to mention how all of that is picked up again by Saviors later on: "Everyone's asleep but nobody's dreaming / We got all the fiction that's worth believing". There's just no dream worth believing in anymore apart from the bullshit we get fed with every single day. Fucking genius. A punch in the gut every time I listen to it.

It really is the theme of the whole album if it has one. I like the similar sentiments in Strange Days Are Here to Stay: “Well this is how the world will end, when superheroes play pretend.” And of course, the song Saviors itself. We need real heroes now more than ever, and all we have are fake ones in the movies.
billy1986
Hope they start picking up some promotion
That Dude
Pulled out the ole "wait between green day albums" file and there's some other studies in this file as well. There's the "latest promotion for albums after their release" portion. Nimrod had the longest promotion, with the last video coming 1 year, 5 months and 9 days after the album release. If we use that as the absolute farthest out that they will promote an album, Saviors could get a single as far out as June, 28th 2025. Of course the more recent albums haven't been promoted that far out, but there were always some BS happening that kind of messed up their plans so maybe a single and video during the tour is possible.
