Really? He’s the OG of comedian hosted podcasts and (imo) the best interviewer out there aside from Howard Stern.

I am in the Uk, most Brits have no idea who Howard Stern is, I only do ‘cos of Green Day.

Fair enough lol. Marc Maron is in a lot of movies and tv shows too.

Can I say something real quick about Marc as Sam Silvia in Glow without everybody getting mad? 🫢

Seriously, though, I'm really excited for this one!

I don't like Marc Maron but I'm all for another Billie interview!

Tell me you're American without saying you're American.

I could listen to Billie for hours. His voice is so pleasant.

Finally he said something about Johnny Rotten 😂

Well it wasn’t as fun as the other podcast he recently did but it was a cool listen!

Forgot to say, I loved the comment from Norah Jones about his singing.  I am so desperate to hear the full album again, properly in peace as my general impression is still that Billie sounded awesome. Surprised also to hear that he’s got more nervous about singing!

Oh fuck yeah, Maron was one of the first comedy podcasters. He's a very good interviewer too, so this should be fun!

Just finished listening.  Good on Billie's side, but I kept going, "let him talk!"  when Marc kept interrupting him.  Billie would be saying something about Saviors, and Marc would bring it back to Dookie, or Billie's childhood, stories we've heard a million times.  And then ended the interview abruptly when Billie was in the middle of talking about Saviors' songs.

I have to say, I feel Billie has always been open about his issues.  He may have said in that one 2013 Rolling Stones article that that would be the only time he'd be talking about it, but he was asked a million times about it during RevRad, and always answered.  And answered the couple of times he was asked during FOAM.  I think he was always honest about how he felt at that time.

Interviewer was a bit off putting. Didn’t know what to make of him. He knew that Green Day became popular quickly in the Bay Area punk scene, knew that Billie had collaborated with Tim Armstrong, knew that they self produced RevRad and BW produced FOAM… but didn’t appear to know that they recorded Saviors in London, which any and every article/review about the record has mentioned (unless he was just clarifying for the sake of the audience, but it didn’t really sound like that).

It was also uncomfortable hearing the interviewer laugh about Billie’s addiction and struggles with alcohol, particularly his relapse around 2017, or the introduction of the topic as Billie “unraveling” and becoming “unglued”

With that said, I could listen to Billie talk about his musical influences all day. Cool to hear him talk about digging a little deeper into the Stones and Ramones discography

So what about your other son does he play music?

Billie: He’s um…uh, well…he was…a drummer…I mean he plays drums and now…he…well…

Nice try Billie 😄 I guess this would fall into the “where I fucked up as a dad” category

I was like “Billie just say he plays drums and move on PLEASE.” 😂 Marc was probably like “huh that was weird.” He talked openly about everything else and then got cagey about if his other kid is a musician lol.

Yeahhh I amend my earlier statement, he probably was media trained at some point but then clearly forgot what to say or how to say it.  I think he said, “he’s doing more grown up things right now” … like what does that even mean 😂
