They’ve played the singles, but I highly doubt that they would play any of the other songs from the album. They probably wanna save it for when the album comes out.

Mike just had all kinds of praise for the Trilogy. He said he really loves Tre, describes it as the one where they were trying to get into the craft of songwriting. Uno was pure power pop and he says Dos really should have been a Foxboro Hot Tubs record. He said yeah he gets that people think it should have been condensed to one record but “when the faucet’s on you just let it keep running”.

I remember seeing Billie in a solo interview and he was asked if When I Come Around was about Adrienne, and he said no. Didn’t say who it was about though.

Agreed.  I've seen at least 2 interviews where he said it wasn't about Adrienne, yet even big name magazines/papers will say that it is.  I remember one was RevRad era (him saying it wasn't about her).  Maybe Stern?

Yeah, the one I’m thinking of was definitely somewhat recent, likely in the RevRad era.

I always wondered who When I Come Around was about….it’s amazing they don’t talk about that HUGE single from Dookie compared to the others…it was the albums biggest hit chart wise

As someone who can’t listen, I love hearing the little tidbits! Also love that they’re playing all sorts of deep cuts.

So are we all expecting the new material to not be broadcast until after the new year? Perhaps a bit closer to release? I’d imagine whatever next single they’re choosing will probably be a big highlight first, and then the rest of the album after release.

 

Also THANK YOU SO MUCH @pacejunkie punk for documenting the commentary on the older material! I love hearing their thoughts, and as someone who doesn’t have the service it’s very appreciated 😁
