Interview on 93.5 Today Radio - Billie just out of rehab?

It's worth saying that the band would've been surrounded by PR, label and management people during this junket. 

If this was seen as problematic, someone would've instructed the radio station not to air that comment. 

So either this didn't happen for whatever reason, or the radio station did it anyway.

Does anyone have a link to the full radio or tv interviews in Toronto? There were a couple of them. I’ve seen clips on Instagram and TikTok I hope there are full videos or recordings somewhere.

Could have went to rehab as a refresher 

I used to have a neighbor who was addicted to alcohol and went to rehab for a long time (and for years and I'd assume still does but haven't seen or talked to him in a long time since he moved) every year or year and a half he would go back to rehab for a week for a "refresher to remind myself not to drink again" 

Billie could've done something like that

Yeah billie needs to learn there's no such thing as moderation when it comes to being an alcoholic you can't half way quit it's gonna eventually pull you all the way back in it's best to stay away from it all together do like duff from guns n roses did try other healthier alternatives like working out take up art do something that's gonna fill the void left by quitting his addictions

Yeah you’re not wrong but i think it’s important to also say that harm reduction is important and sometimes it’s the best people can achieve. And even though attempting moderation/going to rehab when it eventually fails isn’t the ideal course of action, it’s much better than giving up.

It's harder when people fail while in the spotlight because all the naysayers will be like ohh look it's mr "one minute left relapsing again" and he's got alot of enemies because Trump cultists, have him on their radar so I hope he stays clean during this takes the time to prepare for everything that comes with relapsing I mean alot of songs on the new album apparently talk about his addictions those songs will be more meaningful if positive change is attached to them

Which is what made parts of FOAM so hard to enjoy for me. Even if he was writing from the perspective of his younger self, the fact that again he wasn’t in the healthiest place when he wrote those songs, kind of killed the carefree party vibe.  

You saw it coming earlier with The Longshot — those songs were all very melancholy, with lyrics about missing his party days, and he began drinking again soon after. He’s always very open about where he’s at emotionally when he’s writing, but all you can do is go along for the ride, trust he has a support system and wish him the best.

@pacejunkie punk Same. I seem to remember us having some similar, concerned reactions at the time to some of the interviews surrounding FOAMF and how blasé Billie was acting toward his issues in favor of living out the party album vibe. It was really hard to hear. Now, with some perspective, I realize that since he was openly drinking at that time and didn’t intend to immediately stop, he could only admit to it and try to move on as though it was fine. He’s a public person whose personal struggles have been made public, and I’m sure that’s incredibly hard to navigate. Addiction is a bitch for anyone, and made even worse when people are watching your every move. In the moment, I was angry at how it was being handled because I was taken aback that the band was deliberately promoting the party lifestyle so hard, but now I have a lot of sympathy for him in that situation. 

As you said, all we can do is hope for the best and wish him well, because it’s something he’s always going to deal with. I’m happy that he appears so happy and healthy lately. The good vibes are back and I feel extremely grateful!

I doubt it would get squashed for that. Billie offered the info freely and if he changed his mind about wanting it included in the broadcast, someone on their team could’ve asked to have it removed. But it is weird that we never got this full interview when we got a bunch of others they did the same day. I thought someone said the entire interview was supposed to air a while ago now.
