The original cover recording sounds better. For some reason, the AI put it out of tune

can anyone help with the lyrics? I’ve got this down but I’m not sure on the start of a line in the second verse

[Chorus]
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981

[Verse 1]
She's throwing punches to the beat
To the sound of cable TV
And she'll never see the world the same
She is a Cold War in my head
And I am [?] (sounds like he says displaying)
On the danger side of hearts, oh no

[Pre-Chorus]
Coffee and cyanide for lovers in the state
If this is not a choice
We got one foot in the grave

[Chorus]
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981

[Verse 2]
Crime, following the signs
Part of our new lives
God-bless the end of time
Pain violence and cocaine
[?] (Sulfur?) from acid rain
We’re gonna live the truth
And pretend that it’s okay

[Chorus]
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981

Sounds good! It's quite catchy, the lyrics don't seem to jump out to me as super stupid, so I'm happy haha

I hear he stopped smoking though, so that's good.

It sounds like there are backing vocals during the live performance.   Can we make out what they are saying?

It definitely sounds like we’re in for a rock opera as the subject of the song is only described as “she”. Like who is she? Will there be more songs about this character?

She
Westbound Sign
Wild One
Youngblood

These are all non-rock opera tracks that describe someone only using the word "she". Why would you assume that "she" refers to some character Billie made up for a rock opera?

Because we all desperately need a rock opera and we want to believe

Despite all the problems of the world, this random women is going to rock out.

Hmm. At least it's a better narrative than a shock that...comes here.

Be bop bada Bing hey oh.

Someone on YT actually covered the song with more studio quality and it’s a much better way to get a reading of the song.

I think the actual studio version should be a lot better and it seems like it will be just a fast and fun song. We’re all missing that from the band these days.

It seems like it would be an excellent “filler” track on the new album. Obviously not going to be a single but atleast it’s a fun 2-3 min song with some pace to it.

She and Westbound Sign are actually single-track rock operas.

Wild One is a 30 second rock opera around ths 1:11-1:41 mark

Youngblood was partially part of C&V which was apparently supposed to be a traditional opera.

I was reading some Youtube comments on the song and someone said it reminds them of Elvis Costello
