Or maybe we could at least have a single by the Game Awards in December, I’m still hoping for a September single at this point

Can we just stop for a second and think about the fact that this 2004 video hasn't been online before or even int he downloads section ever? Pretty cool

That plus it’s from the American Idiot era, while the teasers for the new album has many references to American Idiot, such as Billie comparing the song they were recording to Letterbomb and being interesting in the same way!!!

Green Day is never going to play the god damn Super Bowl. They haven’t had a “rock band” play the half time show in years unless if it’s some half ass “rock band” like Coldplay or Maroon V because they’re “safe”. I can confidently say that after the NHL all star performance that the networks aren’t probably even thinking about calling Green Day especially before calling a safer act like imagine dragons or something.

The last time a big rock band played it was The Who in 2010

I’m telling you, that NHL performance is a black mark and is going to forever deter networks from having them involved in any way unless the band agrees to be extremely restricted, and do we honestly see that happening?

That’s considered bad? Most of their songs have swears.

Yeah but you can’t say “fuck” on TV. They bleeped out the “fuck” and “faggot” on American idiot because that was part of the script but Billie went off script and said fuck like 4 more times and it didn’t get censored out because they weren’t prepared for it. Just like when you hear the occasional shit or fuck from the audience or players when you’re watching a live sports broadcast. I’m not saying Billie is wrong for doing it, I’m just saying that it doesn’t come without consequences or reputation.

I was under the impression BJA did that, media picked up on it and everyone was happy.

Nah, inferring anything from what posts I like is more runaway speculation. I like posts all the time for all kinds of reasons no one can deduce any meaning from that.  I thought people would be genuinely excited when the news came out but inevitably around here the ones who are disappointed because they raised their expectations too high or wanted something different are going to whine and hang the messenger. Classic GDC

But not everybody cares for PHGP so why assume everyone will be excited? Nobody is "hanging the messenger" but at the same time, you're not really the messenger. You chose to have that role by dropping hints when you could've just said nothing and let it be announced when it's supposed to be. You can't hype things up without saying what it is and then whine when people are disappointed.

Don't worry guys. As a big NHL fan they fucked up. Not Green Day. It's like everything the NHL does is a joke.

Look at them hiring Slipknot for the next all stars game and wondering why their music is heavy metal.

Swearing isn’t OK, but TV performances with seductively dancing strippers singing songs about fucking bitches with wet ass pussy is OK.
