1972 project speculation thread

If this is their last album then all that talk about staying in this band until they are dead meant nothing….I highly doubt that’s true why would they have this be their final album….if any insiders can debunk this please do we will have 300 pages worth of breakup speculation

It‘s just impatience talking. We’ve been waiting for this thing since 2021!!! All baseless claims just so they have something to talk about in this thread!!! Same as the baseless claims about Billie’s alleged vocal cord surgery!!!

Someone on that Reddit thread says they have a source from the band that this coming album will be their last. Man that would be sad.

Do you have a screenshot of this comment? Can't find it :ermm:

The fact that any of the Mods haven’t debunked that breaking up rumor just scares me 😟

I feel we’re partly responsible for killing off 1972. 🔪

Maybe ‘72 was just the friends we made along the way!  🤗

Because it's nonsense that shouldn't get attention. The album is coming in 2024 and the mods have been hinting at a side project coming soon. Doesn't sound like a breakup to me

Sanity at last, thank you.

Wouldn't hate it if they revisited the Jesus Christ Supermarket concept. I mean for the artwork alone

There was a time when 1972 was the title of the docudrama, the story of GD from the start, using actors.

Sadly another project to bite the dust.

Therefore, nothing to do with album 14, which is totally on track and will be with us in a little while. With more to follow, then another, and another, and another, and another, and another.....

1972 being dead makes sense. It seems like it started as one thing and it evolved into another and it won't be called 1972 (which I thought we knew). I'm not buying into the whole this is their last album until I hear it come from the band themselves.

Also... the Blink opinions in this thread  I do agree though that Edging isn't great. It was fun song live, but I haven't listened to it since its release.

What Blink-182 opinion?

Jason White's interview got weird when the guy asked about the end of Green Day.   Jason is slow to answer a lot, as if he is calculating how much Green Day juice he is allowed to give, and he ain't the main squeezer nor juicier.   The end of Green Day is not something he thinks about is what he said.   But it sounded like the question struck him pretty hard.

I think we're okay.  If Green Day split, I guess the Viagra Boys would become my favorite band still active.

No it wasn't.

Did they record something, realize it sounds like Father of All Trilogies and decide to try again?

That’s a lot of assumed information you’ve got there.  1972 the title of a docudrama project that was scrapped?  Who ever said that?

I'm sorry. With the latest story on here that 1972 is dead, I'd assumed it was referring to the docudrama raised last year? As @nopride84 has pointed out they are not related as I thought. I must have got confused with something else. I withdraw what I said. Apologies for causing any misunderstanding.

Things get canned, its not necessarily a bad thing…

Would there have been an American Idiot, if there was the Cigarettes and Valentines album ?
