Cavallo and Chris Lord-Alge are working on mixing a brand new Green Day album, which is being mixed on Lord-Alge's SSL console. There's aslo an interview from May 2nd: https://www.solidstatelogic.com/media/rob-cavallo-captures-big-studio-sound-with-big-six So unless the plans change, we're expecting the new album 'probably' around February-April period next year. We will only get 1 or 2 new singles this year (probably during Autumn months). I still hope for a late August single release. At least we have news of a new album release period info now, rather than nothing. 6

I only read "Currently, Cavallo and Chris Lord-Alge are working on mixing a brand new Green Day album, which is being mixed on Lord-Alge's SSL console. But when Cavallo gets home and wants to work on a demo for another artists he is working with, he doesn't feel like he is missing anything with BiG SiX" And if it's true then I'm speechless.... their plan probably have changed since early January I guess. 2

I think he said something like, “We’re going to break up, but we’ll be back next year!” I need a reality check before I go nuts. That festival Feb 25/26. Feb 28, photo of Mike, Tre and Rob Cavallo in the studio. Following on from Jan 10 comment "Still in the middle" of working on the new record. May 27, 2022. Billie Joe quote in Kerrang mag' that GD are "making a record that's probably going to come out in 2023". Now this latest news of release delayed till 2024. I need a drink. 2

Although posted May 2, it's promoting company equipment. It does not say when the comments where made??? Edited May 3, 2023 by pcj Change message

Flynn Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Well you'd hope that they just accidentally wrote down what they said about it being "early next year" if they said that the interview was taken place last year. But we also aren't really in early 2023 anymore as we are almost half way through 2023 at this point. If it's really true that it's coming out early NEXT year then I hope that the album is one of their best yet. Also that's not me having major high hopes, I just mean I hope it is worth the wait since they started teasing this like it was coming soon in December 2021, so this apparent "teasing" on and off for 2 years is just not a smart move in my opinion. 3 1

jengd Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 It’s going to feel like a very long wait but we’ve had long waits before, just need to hold on to the positives here. Time to save some ticket and merch dosh! 4
