That Dude Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 I listen to it quietly at work. As always Green Day can do no wrong. The feel good hit of the year has arrived. 1 Quote
Chin for a Day Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 I like it! It is fun and upbeat! So much better than anything on FOAM. Quote
Popular Post Alan86 Posted May 17, 2021 Popular Post Posted May 17, 2021 Back during the 21st Century Breakdown days Butch Vig said Green Day had a song called "Wonderful" that didn't make the album. Billie says wonderful a few times in the beginning of the song, I wonder is this a rewrite of that song. First thing that came to my mind. 10 Quote
frankoz Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Did not expect a new song. My gosh, do i find it baaaad. It is less than generic, different Green Day (vocal) melodies and song elements just grinded together, an uninspired rhythm, bad other melody parts and a puked out song structure. Just soulless..what a shame. And no, punch or drive, no surprises at all, no groove. No rich sound, just bland. Awfully general, forced lyrics with lousy rhymes. Meh. I'm sorry... 3 Quote
frankoz Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 By the way, listen to Halo by Foo Fighters, the verse melodies sound very much alike: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zr-9SQdT4hI Quote
Popular Post PursuitOfEpicness Posted May 17, 2021 Popular Post Posted May 17, 2021 I like the guitar but it reminds me of a Disney Channel original movie end credit song 😂 3 2 Quote

Elxufinnishidiot Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 I feel like the whistling outro thing could've been the bridge. It sounds so good, I'm sad it doesn't last longer lol. 4 Quote
frankoz Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 (edited) Don't get me wrong, this is a nice little song. I only wished for something that sounds like more than an unfinished idea to me. Green Day is one of the 4 artists that were defining for my life and that i identify with. I already didn't like FOAM. The album before that, my first reaction was: ok, GD, i don't love you anymore, but let's be friends. Gave it a chance and liked it very much after some time Well times change. I move on Edited May 17, 2021 by frankoz 2 Quote

Certainly better than HCTS and the majority of FOAM. The best part? No coke references lol. One thing: Is it me or do the drums sound weaker than normal? Drums are definitely weaker due to the mixing. Chris Dugan also mixed HCTS which also had a similar drum output, with everything squashed and mono-sounding 2 Quote
purplebenny Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 YEEES!! much more like it and a huge step up from HCTS, very warning esque in places! more of this please! 3 Quote

Duhhan1023 Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Am I the only one who prefers FOA era to this? I find the last two releases quite a step back.. again I don't really take in between singles that seriously.. 4 Quote
