I guess I meant TV stations or streaming outfits in general. Maybe not MTV, but there's been plenty of times before where there's news like "Get ready for some great music from Green Day" etc. and then it's just a re-broadcasting of an older performance. Especially now during the pandemic.

solongfromthestars Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 This year has been so weird that I saw this and thought "not another one that will obviously be pre-recorded because The Longshot are performing on New Year's Eve" as if that show wasn't almost a year ago

It doesn’t have to be live, just not a re-airing of a performance everyone here has already seen
Forever Now Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Arghhh, what a bummer they’re just using a performance from one of the iHeart shows (I’m guessing the 2020 FOAM release party or from the 2019 iHeart festival?) It would have been bittersweet to see the guys all dolled up back in Green Day mode and performing after being away for so long this year.
desertrose Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 something to watch on NYE anyway. Just want to see a performance on TV.
Little Boy Named Booze Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Yup. Official it's an old show https://www.fox.com/new-years-eve-toast-and-roast-2021/?fbclid=IwAR2NenWwlj9MB8L-idwV_9ORIpySNl3eM5DtFvwyr5-fitVe7YdM_vduNW8 Ken Jeong and Joel McHale are teaming up to “Toast & Roast” all that was 2020 during the most anticipated New Year’s Eve of all time! Yosuke Hanamura Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 As long as it’s not a re-airing of Billie’s performance from the “Living Room Concert for America”, I’ll live with it. I can at least be excited at the potential of an HDTV upgrade for something that was exclusively webcast.

Squashie Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 That description posted above does not say anything about it being a re-air of a performance. The “tape delay” is for the west coast because of the 3 hour time difference from New York to California. I’m certainly not getting my hopes up for a new performance, but I’m failing to see where anything says it’s a re-air of a previous one.

Guest Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 Yeah, I am with @Squashie: I don't see where it says it will be a rebroadcast. I mean, I get maybe people are drawing that from where it says iHeart performances, but that isn't made explicitly clear. I think we can assume it will be a pre-recorded performance just because they can't have a whole bunch of live performances with the pandemic, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be something that has already aired.
Yosuke Hanamura Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Are we positive that it’s just an old performance?
Squashie Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 2 hours ago, Yosuke Hanamura said: Are we positive that it’s just an old performance? Live just means it’s not a re-air. All of the other “at home” shows they aired earlier this year were listed as “live” but all clearly pre recorded. Most New Years shows are pre recorded anyways (see GDs performance last New Years when Billie did the longshot show at the Golden Bull but was “live” for GDs New Years performance on TV).

DookieLukie Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Is this on the major FOX network channel?

Bakabanas Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 4 hours left until 2021, don't know in which thread I should write it, but here it goes: I have survived huge choking and hospital, and kicked Covid-19's ass, I am recovering exponentially fast, and I got immunity to virus until at least April! Green Day was a significant help to me this hard 2020 year (Cancer is the New Black - "I got myself a fever, this album is a BREATHER"), and no matter what Billie Joe Armstrong holds for the next year, I am sure will still be in love with them (AT LEAST until 2022, from 2008 and never stopped loving them), and I thank You all for the comments, replies, dark Green Day-ish humor, it cheered me this year A LOT. So, as the mark two approaches, remember one thing: KEEP GOING!
Yosuke Hanamura Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 For those who don’t have a way of watching it live. https://ustvgo.tv/fox-hd-live-streaming/
The Grohl Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 So I think the show is on and so far it seems to be new pre-recorded performances. Hope that's the case with Green Day! I hope someone is recording it because I may not be able to watch it

Hope it’s new I want to see that floof!
Yosuke Hanamura Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 @The Grohl I know that It’ll be captured and uploaded to sharemania.us. I’ll get that when it’s up.
