When the panicland thing happened they didn't even bother to say anything because it would be useless

This all seems like advertising to me

Also chris Dugan follows that account on insta 😅

Just noticed also the videos that Billie posted on the stories are without a link this means he downloaded the video to upload it as a story

Why he couldn't just do a screenshot of the identity stealers? 🤣

Fans: we’re not falling for this again and this will be forgotten about until annouced officially

They didn't say anything about panicland because all big artists have a policy, which is usually even enforced in their contract, not to acknowledge fan works. If you sent a song you wrote to GD right now, like to their agent or to the label, you'd get a stock reply back saying something to the effect of "While appreciated the band cannot accept fan submissions, and your song will not be opened or listened to". This is to avoid credible lawsuits where you send an artist a song and they later release something that seems similar, which has in fact happened in the past.

Similarly, Billie's acknowledgment of Ultimate Test is in itself confirmation that it's real. Even if you wanted to assume him saying "this isn't us" is like a double bluff and it really isn't.

This is was what I meant, it's useless for Green Day to go out and hunt down every band who is stealing their identity or pretending to be them

First, you give them popularity which is the contrary of your purpose.

Second, you just  have to call your lawyer to set it up for you avoiding all the things you listed before 😁

Maybe useless is the wrong word, deleterious fits more

I dont know what you guys think, but personally I hear more Jason White 's voice in "Ultimate Test", than Billie itself.  I also think that Billie's pronouncemet would be different in some parts. On the other hand, I don't think that Jason is a Network member. The song can easily be considered to be one of the Network's and the composition is expert made, which is not easy to achieve even for a pop song, and to me that 's the strongest clue against the impersonator theory. But that on it's own can't convince me that this song is made by the Network. Still of course, it 's clear that a new Network album is on its way.

I don't know why people are still treating this with any possibility of it being phony. I thought we were all in agreement it was really The Network from 2003 coming back

I don't want to sound polemical, but the agreement between us sometimes has been proven misleading, even when some members have dealt great amount of time to make arguments that were very sound and convincing. I don't doubt that there is a Network album coming, I just say that my ears give me reason to doubt about the originality of this particular song.

It’s cool that 2020 the year of the Network’s return (according to the ancient prophecy, definitely not a random year they made up in 2003) is also a time of a general resurgence of popularity of new wave. It’s mostly serious darkwave “emo” bands like Molchat Doma, but still, The Network called it that there’ll be doomers looking for post punk synths to listen to :P

I've noticed this too. Even The Weekend and Miley Cyrus's singles sound New Wave.

Miley also said the majority of her new album is punk based so I’m hoping it will be a good listen

Me too, Miley is a great artist imho. Everyone always trashes her for the wrecking ball thing but she did some good albums.

Not sure what this means, but from the networks stories:

d072225f30f64a1cbf4b0f7b07050042aaf75310c563799d22442a2dd85499ef3cb704dbba3c5ec6e962ba92875b1b35e5a3fdb3146d06d66d51c171
basically it’s 30 seconds of spider videos.
