Okay while I wait for this album I'll give the longshot album a listen. I never actually listened to that album.

Totally, and I think having a new producer pushed them in the right direction. It’s full of these little sound gems that really make the difference. Plus the lyrics tops  everything Billie did in a while IMHO.

Really? I mean really?

"I was a teenage teenager full of piss and vinegar"

🙃

Better than I expected. Fortunately 😍

First singles only fuelled fears that rest of the album will be a boring pop

I hear the 60s vibes /Foxboro / Dos / Def Lepparf / The Black Keys / 80s glam rock / power-pop

PS. I Was a Teenage Teenager could easily be a SWMRS song

Exactly what I said before about teenege teenagers.

It's still a step up from the Trilogy.

A very forgetful album for me I think, sugar youth is good, but the rest is crap appart from Graffitia, that song is amazing and the way I see it, it would have been an excellent opening track for a new album that would be on par atleast with 21CB or even AI. But for me sugar youth 7/10 , Graffitia 10/10, rest of songs <5/10, album 6/10. Dissapointed.

I think they said SWMRS influenced them in that album. I didn’t listen it yet  but I like their style so can guess it’ll be a good one

Yeah, 100%, and how convenient of you to pick one of the few straightforward lines of the record (which still is fun as hell to me 😄

It feels weird to be so excited for like 17 minutes of new content after waiting 5 minutes. Im scared the album will have the same issue as insomniac but worse for me, where the reaction i have is "wow this albums pretty go- oh its already over...". xP

Also wonder how many people are gonna listen to the high quality version and end up prefering the low quality leak versions? XD

Great idea! Haven’t listened to that album for a while. That will definitely drag me through the final week of waiting.

One of the few? 😂😂

Come on now, I can appreciate you're probably getting caught up in new album hype, we all do too an extent.

But almost the entirety of the album is simple and straightforward lyrically, the three singles demonstrate that in abundance.

(People on here won't like me saying this, I look forward to the incoming abuse 🤣

Dude I am not sure what’s your take on what is good lyrics, but to me here there’s much more good song writing also on that side than what Billie did at least in the last two GD records. Not trying to convince you about this, you are entitled to dislike this, but can we stop already this patronizing “oh you are blinded by the hype this is shit” attitude? I am sorry you don’t like It, it must suck, but we are not all like you, you know?

Needless to say, after hearing the leak, I'm no longer fearing the fact I'd be paying about £10 on something I won't like. It's not the best but it's pretty good. £10 will be better spent now than when I got the each of the Trilogy for £8.99.

Wow the new record is great. I love Foxboro and when Green Day go garage so this album hits the spot for me. Im glad they're trying something new

Pretty much anything by Queens Of The Stone Age 😃  - especially the Villains and Like Clockwork albums.

Wasn't trying to patronise you, I admitted myself to being caught up in new album hype too. That's all. Glad you're enjoying it though.

Alright I listened to the leak.

Honestly, people are sleeping on Junkies. That's the only song that caught and kept my attention positively throughout the whole album. The band took a risk and had some pretty cool production choices on that song, plus the lyrics are pretty personable. The rest is just forgettable and kind of the band in autopilot. Some cool ideas here and there but they don't really expand upon it much (like the cool harmonies in the MMOTR chorus).

I Was a Teenage Teenager is probably one of the most pointless songs they've ever made. The lyrics are the epitome of nothingness. Oh Yeah is an exceptionally bad single as well.

Father of All, Sugar Youth, and Graffitia are about on par with the average Green Day song. Meet Me On the Roof are a very small step above them.

Feeling a strong 4/10 so far.

I'm positively surprised that a majority of the reactions are positive, mostly even excited. That's great, I really want this to be a full-fledged addition to their catalogue, not just a short, fun troll album. All the good reactions are giving me hope, thanks for that! I'll still wait for the official release though, even if it'll be hard to contain myself :D.

Not even close to a troll album 😂
I was a bit worried during these months but now I say it's epic.

Call me crazy but .........

I listened to the mono rip of  ‘oh Yeah’ and the stereo version on Spotify. I think I actually prefer the mono rip.

Weirdly I think the mono rip has a better fuller sound i think !!

The bass is better on the official version but that’s it.
