And exactly - it's fun to listen to new songs and it's not like they're spoiling a masterpiece. If someone listened to American Idiot Whatsername first, I'd say that was a mistake, but it really doesn't bother me that they're putting out songs out of an album that they describe as 10 songs they threw together because of yolo and unicorns. Like say Uno or Insomniac, I don't think song order and knowing multiple songs in advance would make the experience from listening to the whole album worse. Plus the new single is an ad song so that's how I'm approaching it. 2 Quote

Lenny Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 So after hearing the first two tunes and digesting them I have to say that I still love the energy behind the tunes. The guitars have a nice punch but there's still some production issues that I have. No mix can be entirely perfect but I have to say with FRA the vocals are too far back in the mix. I like what Billie's doing vocally and I want to HEAR it. The accentuated bass part in FOAMF is a little bit muddy. That may have been intentional for some kind of dirty effect but once again I want to hear it loud and clear. It can still sound dirty and have tonal quality. Butch Walker has brought something new and I respect that but like anything it comes with pros and cons. If I was in the band I would propose to work with a different producer on each song. Not sure if that's been done before. I think maybe the Foo Fighters did it? I think Green Day would benefit from that. Who would you guys pick? 1 Quote
