MillenniumFan Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 This must have slipped under the radar, both in this thread and random news one, probably because of #JeffGate Only thing is, it hurt me slightly when he said: "a perfect pop song". Although, he's not exactly wrong haha

I love the way he broke it down. I’d like to see him do this for a lot of Green Day songs that was fascinating (although pet peeve people always get that “but it’s home to me” line wrong). I wonder how much music theory and technical know how they actually have, he pointed out that it’s instinctive and they aren’t consciously making these choices. They don’t read music as far as I know.
Squashie Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 Currently listening and it's fascinating! I want him to break down more of their songs.

It reminds me a bit of Broadway Idiot when Tom Kitt is playing WMUWSE on piano and talking about what a beautiful and classic melody it is.

I need to watch Broadway Idiot again. He's pointing out things I've never heard in the song after 12-ish years of listening to it!
Hermione Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 This is really interesting! Split into its own thread
