Hermione Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Project Chimps seems like such a great project. It's really nice to see Billie/Adrienne and Green Day support animal and environmental charities.

From the top down they're the best run charitable organization I've ever had the privilege of supporting. All star board of directors, and the executive director and director of philanthropy are amazing. And I can share firsthand through experience that this organization is super important to the entire GD family- BJA and Adrienne aren't just "honorary" board members, they're actually highly involved. And Hermione- this sounds crazy, but it's true. Your character's actress (Emma Watson) had dinner at our low-key local restaurant outside of Boston last week. She's shooting a movie out here (Little Women). It was unbelievably surprising as it's our favorite family restaurant and we just happened to take the kids at about 5pm for an early dinner. It didn't seem anyone recognized her but naturally my Harry Potter fan family members made sure they had a nice chat before we left. She was truly so kind and splendid to them. I'm not a big Harry Potter fan (yet) but apparently Emma's a big deal. One would have never known this based on how she carried herself.
gaslight13 Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 I love that knowledge of their support of charities only really comes out when they're asking others to support. Billie doesn't use it for extra publicity or to seem important. Truly service just for the sake of giving back and helping causes that are important to them.

My username is just my real name though, I've never read/watched Harry Potter haha.

To be fair hardly anyone had heard of it here either , I've never met another one and before Harry Potter no one could ever pronounce it. Unless you're very into Greek mythology or Shakespeare it's nearly always going to be a HP reference so I usually assume it is when I see it too.

Obviously it's easy to not buy a book but the movies were ubiquitous. Just yesterday we were talking about it with some friends that practically everyone who was old enough to read or watch the movies did so and how HP is 100% universally known/worshipped/an easy convo topic bc everyone is familiar with it. I don't even remember how I got to watch the first movie, i just did.

Probably would've randomly seen some of the films if I was a bit younger but the first one came out when I was 16 so I was old enough to not automatically end up seeing them.

Emma is cool but you are the original. Thanks for sharing, I feel we've "known" a little about you through the forum over the years but it's nice to learn a bit more unexpectedly!
