WhenIsaacComesAround Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Favorite side project anyone? Mines probably Foxboro Huttubs
pouty bitch Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Tubbies. Always. Stop, Drop and Roll is probably my favourite song of all time.
Slave To The Network Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Foxboro Hot Tubs of course! Though I do love me some Network.
Clockwise Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 I feel like I already prefer Love Is For Losers over Stop Drop and Roll. We'll see how I feel when the newness and excitement wears off.
straighttohell Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 they all rule in their own way, but pinhead gunpowder will always be my personal fave. goodbye ellston avenue is a modern day punk classic.
AimieeSmith Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 My favorite side project is when Green Day just perform as a trio ! .........
pacejunkie punk Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 I love the Foxboro Hot Tubs and Network albums but Longshot is my favorite side project because it’s the one I’m getting to experience in real time as it happens. I love the album, the soundcloud and all the instagram fun, I have tickets for the shows and Billie is healthy and happy. I wasn’t a superfan during the other projects so I don’t have the same memories.
disappearing_boy_39 Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Well, The Longshot isn't really a GD side project. It's a Billie side project. Just like Pinhead Gunpowder or Billie & Norah. My favorite GD side project is The Network just because it was a very mysterious and unexpected surprise. We couldn't help but wonder at the time: Is this really Green Day or a violent, dangerous group of hoodlums set to wreak havoc on American ears?! You have to remember, this was the first new album that we were hearing since 2000's Warning and the music was quite a departure from Green Day's typical sound. Also, the feud between the two bands was hilarious! Here's hoping The Network tours in 2020! That being said, if I was basing my decision solely on the music, I may pick FBHT. Stop, Drop, and Roll! is such a strong album and seeing the Tubbies live was the best "Green Day" show I've ever been to. It was wild...they debuted Fuck Time, playing it around 8 times, and "covered" Supermodel Robots which was really cool!
Q-Man Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 As of now it's a tie between FBHT and The Longshot. Mainly because I want to wait and see how time impacts my opinions on The Longshot. As of now I've been loving it, it's a perfect warm day, windows down, music blasting album.
The Grohl Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Probably The Network and FBHT. Even though The Network album isn't flawless, I think I like it so much because it was something so out of left field for GD. And it's a lot of fun - which can also be said for Tubbies. The Longshot I find to be familiar vintage sounding rock. It's fine and it can be fun, but I just really don't get what's got everyone salivating over them.
Chin for a Day Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 I am on the Longshot or FBHT side. Both are just fun and upbeat. I don't get the Network, at all.
Guest Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Foxboro Hottubs and The Longshot for sure. Never got in to Pinhead Gunpowder.
Clean Cut Asshole Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Pinhead Gunpowder for sure! Obviously, I never saw Pinhead or anything, but I have a lot of happy memories with them. When I got into them was one of the best times of my life, so it's partly personal and also it's just 'cuz I like their music better. Plus, Aaron is one of the best lyricists ever!
Sarcasm Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 The Network was great, and I really like Pinhead Gunpowder. The asshole is right, Aaron writes really well.
deleteduser7593 Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 I can't make a strong and fair comparison between projects, due to the fact that, for example, Pinhead Gunpowder have lots of release, FBHT, Longshot and Network only one, instead. By the way, I love FBHT, Pinhead Gunpowder play punk in the way I prefer, I don't like the Network and... I like FBHT so... Pinhead Gunpowder is my favourite, I guess :-)
duckez Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 The Longshot because it's recent and I've never paid much attention to the other side projects
Melodyisdestiny Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Foxboro is my favorite musically, but found out about FBHT the year after the shows. I'm loving the Longshot! The anticipation, the music and getting to go to the shows has been so much fun! Saw them in San Fran, and I'm currently in a hotel getting ready for the LA show. I really hope side projects continue from here. Getting to see great bands in tiny venues is such a treat.
UNICORN VOMIT Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 I listen to Pinhead Gunpowder alot but the Foxies would be my most listened to GD album behind 21CB
The Bellie Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 I haven't listened enough or watched enough footage of the Network and Pinhead Gunpowder (even though I liked the little I've seen especially The Network, but I still have to dig it to fully appreciate it) and I guess for me it would be FBHT or The Longshot anyways. Musically, I love them both, even The Longshot a little more. I do love that all members of GD toured as FBHT, which is not the case for the Longshot, but since I'm witnessing them now and gonna see them live, and a Billie who's doing as well as when I saw GD last year, well, for me it's the Longshot first. Even with Billie being absolutely annoying (although funny!) with his Instagram tricks in the beginning .
