What Happened to Us Getting More Trilogy Remixes?

I thought I saw Billie say on instagram that they'd be putting out more Trilogy remixes. Just was curious if anyone had more information on the status of that cuz it has to have been a good 6 months now since the Otis mix of 'Fell For You'

Nope. Other than a possibly empty promise that’s all we got. Note to future selves: Billie is a tease 😕

Feel free to post your wishlist. I’d like Rusty James or Missing You.

My Top 5 would be: Dirty Rotten Bastards, Missing You, Angel Blue, Lazy Bones & Carpe Diem

The announcement to get more remixes went to the same place where the Forever Now music video and a new Foxboro Hottubs show went... a parallel universe. :search:

I'm glad we haven't had more. Not because I don't like the Trilogy on the whole, more that RevRad has been a far more successful era and it's better that they're focusing on that rather than trying to fix less good songwriting with different mixing.

They might be on the way, they might be forgotten - either way some remixes of songs the band appears to have written off aren't going to be high on their list of priorities.

I wasn't that impressed with the Fell For You remix. I'm not really sure it made the song any better. I've only listened to it a handful of times. So I wouldn't be too disappointed with no more remixed trilogy songs

why would they continue

Billie forgot, obviously.

The Forgotten

Dirty Rotten Bastards

Ashley

Lazybones

Let Yourself Go

My top 5.

Pretty sure they'd sound cool remixed

The new album could be a combination of remixed trilogy songs and Cigarettes and Valentines!

But it won't be.

Looking back at Billie’s old instagram posts, it seems he was doing trilogy guitar remixes back on April 29, 2013

And this second post seems to say which songs he was working on (although oddly the only one we’ve heard isn’t on this list)

This could be a good sign.  Those were probably meant to hold us over between albums, but perhaps they are instead working on the new record and so we don't need these.  Or maybe Billie remembered how much he kept talking about "not looking back" and realized that was exactly what it was.  Or maybe someone said "no more trilogy.  No more.  No live performances.  No remixes.  No nada."

Maybe he just forgot.

I've been listening to more radio lately, and the rock stations are pretty good, even to my ancient ears.  Tonight though, I burned Against Me's entire discography for my commutes.  There is just something deeply special about their music and I've got to say, Laura Jane Grace is simply amazing in every way!  Their lyrics and music are raw and heartfelt.  Sure their sound has gotten "more mainstream" or whatever the journalists and critics say, but sometimes when I'm dancing around in my underwear and singing along with "Thrash Unreal" or "The Ocean" - I think that Against Me! are the only true punk band out there.

I'm not really bummed about the remixes not appearing.  I was a huge supporter and lover of the Trilogy, but remixes are one of the worst things in music PERIOD.  It's just sort of a waste in my opinion.

I liked the original Fell for You, and the new one just sounds weird because....I don't know.  Punk Rock.  Or something.

Whatever.

With the poor mixing of the first one, I don't need more. Clearly a different guitar tone can make some difference, but clearly Billie Joe doesn't know how to mix anything.

I think instead of remixes, we’re gonna get Love Is for Losers by The Longshot. Good deal

I would like to hear new mixes for trilogy songs. I love the vast majority of songs from that era, but the sound production was really flat. I could notice the improvements in fell for you, and I liked it. It sounded way better than ¡UNO!'s version (Therefore, fell for you wasn't one of my favorite tracks on that album). The release of GFB was the approppiate time to release more mixes to represent trilogy era.

I do agree with you... Things need to be accepted in their way, bad, good or what it is... Those 3 albums didn't get successful, they don't need to put out other 3 different versions to please someone. Demolicious was already enough to me, in fact I didn't buy it. ''Fell for You'' remix was fine but, yes, they definitely have to go forward. I still think that a few songs off UNO, DOS and TRE' would have sounded better with more distortion but the real problem (to me) with those LPs is mostly about the songs and not the way they sound.

If they just re-record the vocals and put a more natural Billie Joe into it instead of the whine/child-ish from the 2012 era it would be great, Lol. But like I said, I guess a song like ''Missing You'' could song MORE Green Day with different guitars but... 80% of the songs are not that genius on the writing, so you can remix it how many times you want...
