Review: ''Welcome to Paradise''. That psychotic atmosphere I can feel through the whole LP. Those noisy guitar overdubs here and there (see point 1). Billie Joe and Mike sweet vocal duets, Trè Cool possessed, easy but genius and mature (despite his young age) drumming. Lirically introspective (''Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?''), reflective (''One of My Lies''), funny (''Dominated Love Slave'') and romantic (''80''). Musically fresh (''2000 Light Years Away''), catchy ''One for the Razorbacks'', a bit repetitive (''Private Ale'') but remarkable (''Welcome to Paradise'', again) and blessed with that you-don't-achieve-it-at-school sense of melody in Berkeley pals' DNA since Day 1 (39/Smooth, their first full album, released 2 years before).
