Let it become the new Brazil and comment "COME TO DUBAI" on every Instagram picture they post, someday they might listen, even if it's just to shut you up.  Seriously though, they should hop over there, even if it's just for a club show.

We had this conversation in a previous thread and I thought the consensus was that they play where they’re invited, so it’s the local promoter that has to try and book them. That will happen if a concert promoter believes they can sell enough tickets to fill a venue. So I think these campaigns need to start at a grass roots local level. Bringing awareness to the band is fine, but I don’t think the decision originates from them.

It comes down to economics and tour logistics (in no particular order, both go hand in hand). If the demand in a certain region doesn't make the time and expense worthwhile, then it's not a feasible tour stop unfortunately...at that point, unfortunately, you need to go to them (and logically speaking from a time/ economics sharing perspective, this means you need to travel to see them in Europe). I think the closest they may have come to you lately is Budapest, Warsaw, or Moscow- and from any of these locations it would take another couple days and thousands of miles/ all types of customs logistics to transport all of the gear, crew, etc.to Dubai. At that point they'd need to sell out a huge soccer stadium to make it worthwhile, which they likely have determined they can't do there. So, sadly, it doesn't look like it's practically possible, Maybe for some lucky reason they'll need to be in the region at some point and decide to put on a club show while there, but unfortunately the international touring logistics don't seem like they'll support a show in your backyard in the near future. Hopefully you'll have the chance to visit Europe or somewhere else they play in the future and make a nice Green Day vacation out of it!

Money, basically. Their promoters and managers can't say beyond a shadow of a doubt that they'd make enough on a show in Dubai to make it worth carting a whole show to Dubai, so they don't.

The reason they don’t play Dubai is because they would have hella trouble selling out one venue there. GnR in March could barely sell out 30k and they were selling out every stadium on their Not In This Lifetime Tour.

The rock scene in Dubai is just taking off so it could happen but they don’t have a fan base in the Middle East that is large enough to warrant the cost of travel (remember it’s staging, crew, lights, pyro, etc) so setting up one gig for a possible half sell isn’t appealing. 

Their best bet in the ME would be Egypt, Israel and Turkey but I don’t see them doing it. Dubai is progressive for the ME but it’s still only just now focusing on its rock scene and it is flourishing but it’s relatively new and focuses more on music and performance and less on the look like everywhere else.

In reality, Dubai has so much money that if some prince their wanted them, they would pony up but GD simply doesn’t have the monetary insentive to go there, yet.

As for Brazil, yeah, do you guys really think they toured their from Instagram posts? Market research, logistical planning and prospectuses and retainers from multiple promoters brought them everywhere they go now. They are not a few guys in a band van anymore. 

A bad move and they lose millions.  They could do Bangkok and then Dubai and maybe Egypt/Israel, Quatar maybe and that would be doable. It would be a minor roll of the dice. On the AI tour for sure, the RR tour maybe. I for one love Dubai and would chomp to go see them there. If they would play Dubai, they would have done it before Brazil and SA but it’s just still far as fuck and isolated even if they did sell out.

By the way, this is why bands, the world over covet the US. Each state is a drive away and carries its own countries worth of fans with very little cost to travel.

The reason even Florida doesn’t get a lot of love from some bands is because of the pain to travel in and out of that very long state peninsula. California is long too but borders everything. The benefit even in Florida is like 5-7 concerts (Tampa, Jacksonville, Miami, Broward, Palm Beach, Gainesville, Tallahassee, etc) and yet some bands still pass Florida. Imagine this issue and you can’t drive 16 hours north to get back to other playable gigs.

In reality it happens if management and AND the booking agent think the promoter is right.

As a promoter, I can tell you that being invited, with money on the table is no guarantee for anyone, anywhere. The choice is out of the hands of the promoter. The promoters job is to sell the idea and Dubai I just don’t see happening other than in a route similar to what I posted above and I wrote what I did without reading anything but the OP. Impressive that you guys pretty much get it.
