Doubleman123 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 I know that a lot of vinyl copies of Dos have Drama Queen instead Stray Heart because Stray Heart was originally going to be on Tre and Drama Queen on Dos but they switched at the last minute. But they had already pressed too many Dos records to waste so they distributed them anyway. Does anyone know if there are any vinyl copies of Dos that have Stray Heart or did they continue to press them with Drama Queen? It would suck if Stray Heart was never on vinyl because it's such a great song.
Karl Karlson Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 All released DOS vinyl records hat "Drama Queen" on them, even the HotTopic ones. There is no vinyl version of "Stray Heart" that has been released.
Doubleman123 Posted December 24, 2017 Author Posted December 24, 2017 Thanks for letting me know. Hopefully there will be a re-pressing sometime in the future. As much as I love Drama Queen it seems sort of silly to have it on both the Dos vinyl and Tre vinyl and not have Stray Heart at all.

pacejunkie punk Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 It makes more sense for Stray Heart to be on Tre. I wonder why they switched it. Maybe the label thought it had single potential and there weren’t many of those on Dos?

It sounds unlike the rest of Dos and is more of a reflective song. SH has the more foxboro hot tub sound and has the same sort of theme that the rest of dos has.

I was thinking more of the lyrics than the music. Stray Heart is a song filled with remorse and it seeks redemption, fits with the theme of the songs on Tre that are all post party hangover and regret. Drama Queen the subject is still mired in that party lifestyle like the characters on Dos.
Maddie86 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 They should do a Stray Heart remix and put it out as a 7" with some other trilogy remixes and maybe a cover and/or new song like on god's fav band
Montclare Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Stray Heart has never felt right on Dos to me (although I know people compare it to Mother Mary). But the song that feels like it's on the wrong album the most is Troublemaker. That totally should have gone on Dos. It fits it both sound and lyric wise.

Yeah Troublemaker definitely sounds the most foxboro than any other trilogy track 41 minutes ago, pacejunkie punk said: I was thinking more of the lyrics than the music. It sounds too different from the rest of the tracks.

I agree that the lyrics fit more with Tre than Dos, but really I feel the song musically belongs on Dos - the driving, memorable element of that song is the bassline, which definitely doesn’t fit with Tre. Drama Queen might make sense on Dos, but production-wise Amy fits slightly better, and I don’t think you could have more than one of those per album.
